There has always been something deeply captivating about Adinkra symbols for @popderi @god.dsgnr Long before understanding their meanings, he was drawn to their forms their simplicity, symbolism and ability to communicate profound ideas through visual language. Each symbol carried a story, a value and a philosophy that extended far beyond what the eye could see.

As his appreciation for the tradition grew, symbols such as Gye Nyame, Sankofa, Nyame Ye Ohene, Nsoromma and Mmere Dane became points of inspiration. They represented different perspectives on faith, identity, resilience, purpose and the complexities of life. This fascination eventually led @god.dsgnr to ask a simple but profound question: What symbol would he create to represent his own philosophy?

That question became the foundation of The Third Stone Collection. Rather than recreating an existing Adinkra symbol, POPDERi developed an original motif inspired by the philosophy, identity and ideas behind his work. Rooted in an appreciation for Akan visual culture while remaining distinctly his own, the motif becomes a visual language for the collection. It is not an Adinkra symbol. It is a POPDERi symbol.

There was always something about the Adinkra symbols that captivated me.

Long before I understood their meanings, I was drawn to their forms. They weren’t simply beautiful marks they carried ideas, values and philosophies. Every symbol seemed to tell a story beyond what the eye could see.

As I grew older, I found myself returning to symbols like Gye Nyame, Sankofa, Nyame Ye Ohene, Nsoromma, Mmere Dane, and many others. Each one represented a different way of understanding life, faith, resilience, purpose and identity. Their ability to communicate profound ideas through simple visual forms fascinated me.

Inspired by the rich Adinkra tradition of the Akan people—whose visual language has been preserved and developed through generations of artists, craftsmen and cultural custodians I began asking myself a simple question:

What symbol would I create if I wanted to express my own philosophy?

That question became the beginning of this motif.

Rather than recreating an existing Adinkra symbol, I wanted to create an original emblem that speaks to the philosophy behind POPDERi.

So This is not an Adinkra symbol.

It is a POPDERi symbol.
