About a year ago, we decided to leave our apartment of 5 years, buy a van, convert it, and live out of it full time while traveling the country. Last night, our journey with the van came to an end. We cried with gratitude as we watched Poppy drive away with their new owner, overwhelmed with all that this experience has been for us. Hoodoos, saguaros, and sandhill cranes in the desert; redwoods and waves near the pacific coast; the sound of running water in the creek; donuts, coffee shops, new cities, small towns; the dead silence of Death Valley; the kindness of a mechanic; eating simply; waking early. We learned so much about what we value, where we want to grow, and what we want (and don’t want) in our lives moving forward. Thank you to all the friends who graciously opened up their houses, farms, and hearts to us. Connecting with you and seeing a slice of your life has been the best part of this experience. We might just have to do this again someday…. by @poppy2van

“Hi there, what time do you open for breakfast?” I ask as I go to purchase a bag of candy. //

“7am bright and early!” //

“Thanks. Is it alright if my partner and I park our camper van in your lot overnight?” //

“Absolutely you can! See you in the morning!” //

The best people in your life make you feel like the most authentic version of yourself, inspire the hell out of you, love you not despite how you’ve changed over the years but because of your growth, and push you to move through the world more lovingly, generously, softly and with more kindness just by their example. So grateful that this van adventure has allowed us to deeply reconnect with some of our dearest people ♥️ by @poppy2van
