2023 was probably the most frantic year I’ve experienced thus far. Devastating heartbreak, unforgettable adventures, questionable fashion choices, new friends, killer live shows, and, most importantly, the beginning of a new chapter, which seems fitting to start fresh since 2023 marks a decade in North Carolina, but anyways, I have three top memories of this year, which I’ll cherish for the rest of my days.

3. Stage diving during Psycroptic’s set at @local506 and making connections in the NC metal scene.

2. Meeting my all-time composer, the almighty Luc Lemay! Seeing Gorguts and @bloodincantationofficial was a turning point in my musical journey, so much so that my traditional « tech death » project has become a dissonant and proggy soundscape. Counterpoint, fretless bass, odd time signatures, and Holdsworth solos galore on the upcoming release!

1. Finally, my favourite memory this year is living with my ultimate homeboy, James. I couldn’t ask for a better friend or roommate, and I’m beyond stoked for another year with y’a homie!

2024, all I have to say is I’m coming at y’a head first! by @porkboarett

My Warmoth Gecko Fretless is finally done! It was a year in the making deciding on colour, specs, and the labour involved. I’d like to thank my family and friends for helping me out with this project.

Also, gotta give a huge shoutout to @briankrahe and Stew from Nordstrand for helping me pick out the pickups and preamp for this beast!

Specs:

Black Limba Body in Vintage Tint
Five Piece Maple/Wenge Neck
Ebony Fingerboard w/ Maple Lines
35" Scale Length
17.5mm String Spacing
Nordstrand Big Blades
Darkglass Tone Capsule Preamp
Hipshot Hardware

This year has been very shitty for me due to the death a man I considered my best friend. It is my pleasure to say that tonight was the best night I’ve had all year! BTBAM played my favourite songs Ants of the Sky & Extremophile Elite, I moshed to Chon, and I got the pleasure to meet the guys in Intervals! Great way to end off a depressing year! taken in Ritz Raleigh by @porkboarett
