steps of service
1. gently move your bottle from storage to your cradle. a helpful hint- store all your bottles horizontally and with the label facing up. this will prevent the corks from drying out and reduce how much you have to move the bottle when getting ready to open it. the angle created by our three format wine cradle is ideal for allowing sediment to settle in bottom corner of the bottle.

2. begin removing the cork from you bottle. I personally like to remove the entire capsule so that I can see what shape the cork is in through the glass. how well the cork has held up will help me decide whether I need an ahso or even durand. also wipe down the rim of the bottle before and after removing the cork - this will get rid of any cellar mold, dust, or cork particles.

3. when the cork begins to come out make sure you have a hand on the bottle to keep it stable. additionally (and not pictured here) place a napkin just below the opening - sometimes wine might drip or even shoot out. next, take a look into the bottle to make sure none of the cork has broken off. also dry off the wet side of the cork so as to not stain your fingers, clothes, or tablecloth.

4. using a candle or flash light begin to pour. with delicate wines that don't need additional air such as burgundies or older barolos I prefer to serve straight into a glass and leave the bottle in the cradle. with younger and heavier wines though you can use your cradle to decant into a vessel. either way you should allows keep an eye at the shoulder of the bottle to check for sediment. the moment you see that sediment start to move from the shoulder to the neck of the bottle is your signal to stop pouring.

5. the final and most important step of service is to drink. whether its for education, work, or pleasure- wine is and has always been about embracing the moment you are in and sharing it with those who you love. taken in Los Angeles, California by @portae.la
