Two weeks ago, I was in Maui teaching a tapestry weaving workshop with my new pals @stitchbystitchmaui 🌴 Y’all! 😍
.
Callie is not even one year in with her yarn shop and it already feels so cozy. She’s reppin all sorts of fiber crafts and unique makers. So grateful for the opportunity to teach and to share some @cashmerepeopleyarns for a trunk show.

Shout out to my pal @awapuhi_lin for the good hangs, island hook ups and recommendations, and for cooking me dins 😋 And big props to Ken and Mish for holding everything together in Portland ❤️

We’ve been seeing some people looking for dyed in the wool for the new Antipodes sweater pattern from @dreareneeknits 💚 a Rhinebeck sweater knit-along iz zappenin! And we’re pretty well stocked on dyed-in-the wool right now 👀

📣 Vendor Spotlight

🌟PortFiber is a fiber arts supply shop and learning space in Portland, Maine. They host classes and source materials for spinners, weavers, felters, dyers, knitters, crocheters, and the like.

🌟Casey Ryder has owned the shop since 2013. They hand-dye fibers and yarns in small batches using acid dyes, but have been known to dabble with natural dyes, too.

🌟In 2017, they started working directly with Cashmere People Yarns, a women-owned cooperative of handspinners and hand-dyers in Tajikistan. Definitely a shop favorite, these cashora yarns are spun from the downy undercoat of cashgora goats that roam the western Himalayas. Treat yourself to this magnificent yarn that benefits the lives of women in a very rural part of the world.

A wee overshot gem. The ground cloth is woven with @gistyarn Sero silk. The pattern weft is some handspun that I made from a @dilettantefiber batt.

Really enjoying this lil loom to explore inlay overshot, a technique I learned from @weaverhouseco by @portfiber
