Made from thrifted pillowcases and scavenged lace. Focusing on fabric manipulation, I did English smocking, shark teeth, insertion lace, and gathers.

BTS of my 1st capstone collection!

“Naturalia” is my conceptual collection based on the beauty of nature and its ability to overpower man. This experience has been so incredibly fulfilling and exciting, and i’m so lucky to be able to create every day! Naturalia split top and barrel jeans.
Final project for studio 3, creating a full look in preparation for collections in the spring.
The top has a functional front button closure, and split side seams with long panels in front and back.
The pants are barrel cut 8 oz 100% cotton denim with a low waist fit and additional double pocket attachment to the right leg.
As i’ve developed the concept of Naturalia further, it has taken on a more draped and organic style, but in the practice of pattern making, for this look I went for a more structured approach.
This project was so much fun, I love making cool clothes. I kinda want to do that forever.

Naturalia Jacket + mockup + sketch + buttons!
Made with a lightweight wool blend fabric and some very cool buttons
The title “Naturalia” is in reference to nature’s reclamation of abandoned human space. I was particularly inspired by the shape and balance of brutalist architecture, using a dark grey wool to imitate a concrete structure. The buttons serve as the “entropy in nature” part of this concept.
I’m going to follow up on this idea more in depth in my next piece! by @portfolio.untitled
