Bringing together arts, culture, industry and community in Portsmouth
POSTS STORIES REELS
We are delighted to share that Portsmouth has been named on the longlist for UK City of Culture 2029. Led by Portsmouth Creates, in partnership with Portsmouth City Council and shaped in collaboration with communities across the city, this bid reflects the ambition, creativity and shared pride that define Portsmouth. Reaching this stage is an important moment. It recognises the strength of Portsmouth’s cultural voice and the power of culture to bring people together, create opportunity and help shape the city’s future. This bid has always been about more than a title. It is about championing Portsmouth’s people and places, building on the city’s distinctive identity, and creating lasting impact through culture. As Portsmouth celebrates Portsmouth100 this year, this milestone adds to the momentum already building across the city. We are proud to back this bid, and we hope the city will continue to back it too.
