Quick photo dump of some behind-the-scenes moments from our tv show Portuguese Problems! Watch Season 1 now by visiting the link in our bio! by @portugueseproblems

Today we spotlight our grande querida, Graça Pinhancos! Born and raised in Covoada São Miguel, Graça eventually made her way to the states where she got her first job as a nanny and credits Mr Rodgers and Sesame St in helping her improve her English! (Though till this day, “Colonoscopy” is still the hardest word for her to say!) 🤣

A worried Avó, gossiping Mãe, or a loving wife (who unintentionally gives her husband back handed compliments), Graça’s range comes from years of performing in Theater back in the Açores. She also says her biggest inspiration was famed Portuguese actor Nicolau Breyner!

When not on camera, our rainha can be found outdoors. A love for nature, Graça enjoys hiking, traveling, and horseback riding (but don’t expect her to be rounding up loose vacas on the road). 🐄🐄🐄

We asked her what her favorite Portuguese meal was and she quickly replied with “feijão assado, served with a cup of licor de maracujá”.

Shout out to our very own Graça Pinhancos! Watch all episodes out now: Link in bio

Our team strong, meet: @chantellarraial. Born and raised in West Warwick, RI with roots in Vila Franca and Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel. And if a double-whammy of Micaelense origin wasn’t awesome enough, Chantell’s fun fact is that she has two different colored eyes - one blue and one green, just like the Sete Cidades :)

Selena Quintanilla was her childhood inspiration. And there are receipts! Her fam has home videos of her getting on top of tables or in front of the TV singing Selena’s songs. Makes sense that she then pursued Musical Theatre at RI College.

Her jeitos include: signing names on cards because her handwriting is the best of the family, and ordering things on Amazon because her mom gets too nervous. Shout out to our castmate Chantell! Watch all episodes out now - link in bio!

If a person sounded like a delicious cocktail, it would be this cast member. Meet: Mike Rita!

This gajo is from Toronto, but não get it twisted, he’s a Micaelense making dollars 💸 and sense🧠. He says: “Ribeira Quente”, but we all know he keeps it cold on stage during his comedy shows.

And, just like his co-star Taylor, he on that galinha jump off for his favorite comida. He credits his character inspo to his childhood trauma.. he knew a lot of GPSs growing up.

Fun fact: he’s met with President of Portugal...but he’ll have to tell you the rest of THAT story, bro.

(...sorry for any typos or bad rhymes, Joey Suja helped write this post)

REMINDER: the entire season is now out. If your parents still haven’t figured out how to watch the show (HAHAHAHA...all too real) then try explaining to them what Binge watching is. We’re sure it’ll go over easy.

For everyone else who knows how to stream, all episodes are out NOW to binge watch. So grab your amigas, grab your charchusary boards, and make a night out of it... but only make one tray of arroz doce, please. We don’t want no problems ;) (link in bio)
