Ho ho ho

TSRD006 V.A is out now. Our sixth release and our biggest project to date. A special Christmas EP from the TSR family built as one complete story from start to finish.

This release moves with intention. It kicks off with high energy fist pump moments, slides into raw electro pressure and slowly opens up into more housey territory, ending deep groovy and full of soul. One journey one flow one shared feeling.🫂

The EP is fully curated together with all the artists involved. Every track is part of the same narrative. TSR is family business and this project truly shows what happens when we do it together. Endless love to all artists for the trust the creativity and the beautiful collaboration. We are proud to welcome you to the TSR family.

These are the first 5 slides of a full 10 track EP. The rest of the story is coming very soon.

Acid bassline using my TD-3 Behringer, a clone of the original Roland 303 - this one is extra squeaky and cheeky over the drums. I’ve been using hardware alongside my DAW a lot more recently but I think the overall outcome is pretty good!

To other producers who have asked me this…

I’ve had a lot of people ask me the best way to set up a TD-3 via midi to sequencers etc.

Surprisingly (I’m guessing) I use it only through my KO2 for groove and as a midi clock. The difference in basslines etc you end up with on a 303 without a synchronised trigger point or all starting at the same time is groovy as f*ck.

🫨 Music Production hardware top tip….

Saturation and Distortion always goes a long way, here I’ve got my Beringer TD-3 (Roland 303 Clone) played through an old Yamaha RM602 studio mixer, the analogue sound just sounds so crunchy and crisp.

Really does bring the sound to another level!
