💙🧡 OCTOBER IS AAC AWARENESS MONTH! 🗣️✨ Not all voices sound the same, but EVERY voice deserves to be heard! Did you know that AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication? AAC includes different ways individuals communicate beyond spoken words, such as: 💚 Communication devices 💙 Picture boards and symbols 💚 Gestures and sign language 💙 Communication apps AAC gives individuals opportunities to express their wants, needs, thoughts, feelings, and personalities! At Posability, we believe communication is more than just words. It’s about connection, independence, and belonging. Through our programs we welcome and celebrate all forms of communication and create opportunities for individuals to connect, build friendships, and express themselves in ways that work best for them. ✨ Every voice matters. Every form of communication deserves respect. And everyone deserves to be understood. 💚 Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day! 💚 Today, we celebrate the strength, individuality, and incredible possibilities of people living with cerebral palsy. 💚 At Posability, this day is especially close to our hearts. CP is part of Emmalee’s story—and her life is a beautiful reminder that a diagnosis does not define someone’s potential, joy, purpose, or ability to make an IMPACT. 💪🏼 Today and every day, we will continue advocating for a world that is more accessible, more inclusive, and filled with opportunities for EVERYONE. Because at Posability, individuals with disabilities aren’t just tolerated or included—they are CELEBRATED. 💚 Happy World Cerebral Palsy Day! 🌎💚 💚 Did you know? • Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common motor disability in childhood. • CP is different for everyone. Some people may walk independently, while others use walkers, wheelchairs, or other mobility supports. • CP can affect more than movement. Some individuals may also experience differences with communication, vision, hearing, eating, or seizures. • Having CP does not automatically mean someone has an intellectual disability. Never underestimate someone based on how they move or communicate. • Accessibility and inclusion matter! 📣 Registration is NOW OPEN! 📅 Our new semester begins October 27th! Come be part of FRIENDS, where connection, confidence, independence and belonging grow together! Spots are limited—register today at www.posabilityevents.life ! POSABILITY F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is an opportunity for 13-22 year olds to build meaningful connections with peers, learn social skills they can apply, and incorporates fun games! Formulating Relationships and Including Everyone No matter their Disability or Status POSABILITY F.R.I.E.N.D.S. will meet on a weekly basis for 8 sessions. Each week will include: * Snack & Drink * 1.5 hour of group time with peers * 2 staff members leading discussions & activities * Additional volunteers to attend to needs as available * Includes game/play time with group, leaders and volunteers Location: Northcliffe Church’s Family Life Center - Students 10515 Northcliffe Blvd Spring Hill, FL 34608 Time: 4:30 - 6:00PM Cost: $200 per semester by @posability.life
