"Sorry I'm Adopted" (2020/2026)

Storytime:
In the first quarter of 2020 the world shut down and I completed college from home. Being in lockdown, I had plenty of time to think. I began to explore complex feelings and emotions. I figured this will satisfy my last assignment, two birds one stone.

However, embarking on this project would actually be a marker of my pre-frontal cortex beginning to develop and me critically thinking about my adoption. I completed the film and submitted it to @bammsummit where it was selected to screen at the @roxie_theater. My first festival and first public screening. I thought that would be the end. To my surprise it also got accepted into @bernal_outdoor_cine festival. I truly thought that would be the end. And it was for almost 5 years.
Until I got a weird instagram ad and submitted to an indie showcase at @applecinemas_official. It was accepted but I felt that the film no longer truly reflected my feelings. So in a week and a half I made an additional 3 minutes, a continuation of what I think, how I feel and how I exist

I don't know if I will ever truly be done making this film. It's a hard process; painfull even. But I think for my art to get better there is still more I need to face. Questions to ask, answers to hear. But I've come to realize, this is my story and I can make it mine
