Representation matters, and for Logan, that representation was Jada Samuel. While Logan was blessed with several incredible queen mentors through the Palmetto Star Program, it wasn’t until she watched Jada make history in 2023 that she truly believed she could do it too.Since then, Jada has been so much more than a titleholder. She has been a mentor, cheerleader, friend, and part of our family. We will always be grateful for the impact she has had on Logan’s life.Three years ago, we sat in the audience watching. This year, we watched our own Nugget make history as only the second woman of color to be crowned Miss South Carolina’s Teen.Logan’s story has never been about the color of her skin, but it is important to recognize the significance of representation. Seeing someone who looked like her achieve something so special helped her believe she could too.What makes this moment even more meaningful is that it represents years of hard work, discipline, perseverance, and faith. Logan takes the most rigorous courses offered at her school, maintains a 5.31 GPA, earned a 34 on the ACT, was inducted into the Cum Laude Society, is a member of the National Honor Society, received the Yale Book Award, is a Yale High School Fellow, was published in the University of South Carolina High School Writing Contest, and will serve as Chief Justice for Youth in Government after earning Outstanding Appeals Attorney, Outstanding Appeals Team, and serving as one of the youngest justices her junior year.Within the Miss South Carolina Organization, she has been blessed to earn multiple preliminary awards over the past two years, including Fitness and Evening Gown. This year, she was honored as the Overall Interview Winner, Overall Evening Gown Winner, STEM Scholarship Winner, Medical Scholarship Winner, and Salute Page Ad Winner.Yet none of those accomplishments define her. What makes me proudest is her heart. She leads with kindness, serves with purpose, supports others wholeheartedly, and remains grounded in her faith.Jada, thank you for showing a little girl what was possible. On Friday night, Logan Wells made history! For the second time ever, 24 years after the first, a Black girl was crowned Miss South Carolina’s Teen… and on Juneteenth! I speak often about how intertwined I believe our destinies are to others’ in this life and there’s no doubt that Logan and I were destined to be a part of each others’ journeys. When Logan was 8 years old, she came to an iShapeMe event with @laurenharperpope. I’d known her from the Princess Program but quickly began to love the bright, brilliant ball of energy that she was (and still is)! The following year, I invited her to serve alongside me! Our bond is a special one. For the last 7 years, I’ve called her my Princess, my little sis, my mentee and so much more. Together, we’d walked away sad, confused and disappointed. It often felt like the “10x times better” lesson that many of us know all too well. I came back and Logan saw that she could do it — proving that “seeing is believing” will always ring true. When @colatownbenson asked her to compete and she said, “Yes!”, I almost fell on the floor and wept. While she earned EVERY bit of this moment through her own hard work and dedication, I am so grateful that I was able to be by her side to answer questions, develop a community service initiative, write paperwork, get prepared for the stage and to simply remind her that she was already more than enough!I don’t know if Logan would’ve decided to chase this dream if I hadn’t decided to chase my own but thank goodness she did. This moment was a part of her destiny! So, the next time you’re hesitant about chasing a dream, remember, someone else’s destiny may be attached to your “Yes.”Logan, now, little girls everywhere will be looking up to YOU — knowing that they can because you DID! I love you endlessly and I’m thrilled to watch you do what you’ve always done best — serve others and SHINE! ✨ by @positionedtowin

Colleen Finney, Miss Boone County ⭐️ 1RU to Miss Missouri 2026⭐️ Preliminary Evening Gown Award⭐️ Rookie Talent Award (HerStory) After transferring to Mizzou to play volleyball, Colleen decided to make the state of Missouri her home. She challenged herself by stepping out of her comfort zone to compete in a preliminary pageant last fall. When a friend connected us, I told Colleen, “I’m not the coach for everyone. I expect a lot.” She told me that she was up for the challenge and WANTED someone to push her.
