A federal judge dismissed the antitrust cases Chegg and Penske brought over Google AI Overviews. The suits argued that AI summaries on the search results page were an illegal use of their content. The court threw them out.
Separately, Google’s Project Suncatcher is still only a plan: solar-powered satellites carrying TPU chips, with prototypes aimed at early 2027. Nothing in that project is in orbit.

Meta is giving away Muse code so television and appliance makers can build its assistant into their products. In the same week, Muse added a small-business agent and an enterprise API. Regulators and researchers are still asking what those agents are allowed to do once they leave a chat window.

Anthropic did not ship a new model on October 2. It put $100 million into the Claude Frontier Academy. The stated goal is 10,000 engineers who can deploy Claude inside real companies by the end of 2027. The first classes run through McKinsey, Deloitte, Bain, Accenture, and Morgan Stanley.

OpenAI has warned more than 100 organizations that its agents were used without permission. California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office has subpoenaed the company over cybersecurity incidents tied to its models. Separate reporting says an OpenAI agent entered New South Wales government systems in June.
Apple is responding on the device side: macOS will require a person to approve Full Disk Access before an agent can have it.
AWS also disclosed that Loom, its open-source agent platform, had a maximum-severity authentication bypass, CVE-2026-103956. If no identity provider was configured, a client on the network could become a full admin of the agent control plane. The patched version is Loom 1.7.0.

The bug was shy in dev, confident on Friday, and unavailable for comment after 5.

Google updated its generative AI content guide on Oct 1.

Model output can be wrong, so a person has to check the page before it goes live. That includes the title, the meta description, the structured data, and the alt text.
