Hey, y'all! Here's a little how-to tutorial for pin tapers and inserting jewelry. A question we always get asked is "How the heck do these things work?!" A really neat trick for earlobes is to insert the smaller, smooth end through the back of your ear piercing with the flatback attached to the pin, and insert it all on one go! We're always happy to help show you how your taper works during your appointments as well! 🥰

(I cannot tell you how many times I, @ghostgirlpiercings, had to refilm this video because I kept finding something I hated while watching it back 🤣)

More tutorial vids in the future?

Fun fact! When you book with us and pay a 'deposit' you're actually paying for the piercing itself!

What does that look like in our shop? Well here ya go!

We've had so many amazing new clients and we wanted to do an quick and easy Do's and Don’ts. This just covers a couple of common things we see. Read through to get some more details!

Do:
-arrive on time. We are an appointment only business and often do not have the ability to see you earlier than your appointment. We will let you in no more than 5 minutes before your appointment.
-fill out your release form. This is available in your confirmation email and on our website.
-bring your ID. It must be a government issued ID with a photo and DOB, and a birth certificate for minors.
-eat something! Getting pierced is a lot on your body. Nourish it.
-be kind. If only we didn't have to include this. We are a small business with only a couple workers and one single piercer. We have rules and regulations to keep you safe. We cannot change the cost of quality, safe, and ethical jewelry. Piercings can be an emotional time for everyone, and we can still be kind to each other.

Don't:
-touch your piercings. Please oh please stop touching your piercings. It's icky and unsanitary. Even healed ones!
-no call/no show. Again, we are appointment only and set this time aside for you.
-arrive late. We will not have the ability to accommodate you if you are late.
-show up without an appointment. We will likely be helping someone, and showing up will not get you seen. Piercing, jewelry shopping, consultations; and downsizes are ALL by appointment.
-bring more than one support person. This is because space is limited and especially kiddos do much better with only one person.
-video record. We cannot allow recording during a piercing. Please respect this rule.

A little curve and a golden light. I had the honor of performing this conch at my last guest spot with @positive_piercing and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Thank you so much for trusting me! I sadly don’t know which company this piece came from :,) taken in Painstaking Art Tattoo by @positive_piercing

This past week I got to do a set of lobes alongside @ghostgirlpiercings at @positive_piercing and it was so much fun! Getting to work alongside some awesome piercers is truly something special to me! Don’t forget I’ll be back October 19th to make you sparkle! But I’m back to regular schedule at @painstaking_art after a week in OKC!

This lovely gal came in for her ear curation with some inspo pics, and ultimately let us play around with placement and different pieces. Aren’t the results stunning?! 😌✨
@divinitymetals Triple Star Cluster in the new helix, @jewelrythisway hidden helix piece for the vertical helix, and we changed her existing forward helix and conch jewelry for these cutesy anodized marquis! The paperclip chain was such a fun addition, too. Chains are a really fun way to give the visual of a hoop without the commitment!
➡️ Swipe to see the before!

This is my redemption philtrum and let me explain why….😭

A day before this piercing above, I had my very first appointment for my very first philtrum piercing EVER. I did NOT execute it very well and it came out severely angled. I knew immediately after what I did wrong! Then, Danielle (above) booked for the next day not knowing what I just endured LOL When she came in for her appointment, I explained she was the 2nd ever I’d be doing this for and that during the piercing process I’d really like to take my time and triple check the angles, etc. because of what I had experienced the day before. Needless to say, WE CRUSHED THAT SHIT! @elleinadpaige Thank you SO much for the trust and aiding in my learning of this craft. 💖 She is now happily downsized and living her best life!
