The girls on our dance and wellbeing programme were absolute superstars! ✨

Their final dance performance was powerful, clearly showing their strength and confidence, we know that they will continue to be amazing, as they grow into successful young ladies.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting with HRH Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh @theroyalfamily

Representing Positive Role Models, was our amazing young leader Ashann, who did a great job of telling him all about our amazing youth work across London as well as our new flagship programme @kingsofthecourt_uk

“I wrote the track ‘Black Boys’ when I was 21yrs old, to add a positive balance to the negative portrayal of black men in the media at the time.

Many people that were mentioned on ‘Black Boys’ have gone on to achieve amazing and inspiring things. That’s what I wanted, for others and myself too” @Bashy

This song turned 16yrs old and it’s powerful lyrics are still relevant today

One of the highlights of our year, was being personally invited to meet the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip @theroyalfamily back in June.

HRH Prince Philip, wanted to learn more about our work and tell us more about his commitment to supporting young people.

We had a great day, lunch was delicious and we met some great like minded people.

Sadly our ‘Heritage and Culture’ programme has come to an end!

Over the last six weeks we have been learning about the beautiful country of Somalia, located on the Horn of Africa.

We looked at Somali clothing, traditions, food and cultural celebrations, recording all that we had learned orally.

The programme finished with a small celebration, where we ate traditional Somali food made up of Bariis Iskukaris, hilib ari and bisbas!

A truly wonderful, cultural experience!
