The struggle continues ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

My pledge is to work tirelessly against poverty, unemployment and injustice; to hold leaders accountable; to serve our communities with integrity; and to keep the flame of freedom alive. I honour the fallen by turning remembrance into action. I vote for change—including change within the ANC.

Siyabonga, maqhawe ethu. May your legacy guide us forward. A luta continua.

Dear journalists, reporters, commentators and analysts,

As you cover the elections, please make room for stories that inform, inspire and build public understanding—not only stories about what is going wrong. Scrutinise those in power, of course, but also highlight constructive solutions, community efforts and the people working to make a difference.

And please try help audiences understand why voting matters. A clear reminder that every vote is a way to shape our future and protect democracy would be a valuable place to start. 🗳️ #Angilwi #kakupohle by @positivegp

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending an invites-only experience hosted by @sofynenetwork Studios—an evening centered on experiences, ideas and considered living.

With thoughtful conversation, meaningful connections and a wonderful sense of community, the evening featured a caviar masterclass, a ceramics collection, and a discussion on the trends shaping East Africa and its investment opportunities.

A memorable blend of fresh ideas and good company. Looking forward to more experiences like this—and to learning more along the way. ✨

For years, I had the privilege of sharing accessible HIV education through my writing in Drum, Bona, Move and REAL magazines, as well as The Sowetan and City Press. Through Positive Talk Shows on radio and television, I was able to continue these conversations and reach even more people.

In the midst of fear of the unknown, knowledge gave us power—power to understand, to make informed choices, and to face the future with hope.

Looking back, I’m deeply grateful that I could serve humanity through an experience that was meant to break me. Nearly three decades later, I’m still moved by God’s merciful gift—and grateful for the opportunity to heal through words.

Thank you, Africa, for trusting me with your stories. So grateful for the stories, the lessons and an opportunity to make a tangible difference. I will always treasure this assignment. 🙏🏽❤️

Today, I’m honoured to take part in the launch of Overcoming by Prophetes @MmemmeMakane-Sibanda

Stories matter. When we share our journeys—with honesty, courage and hope—we remind one another that hardship does not have to define the ending. Our stories can help others feel seen, find strength and believe in the possibility of beginning again.

Congratulations, Mmemme, on this powerful contribution. May Overcoming inspire many to rise. #Overcoming #OvercomersMovement #ThePowerOfStories by @positivegp

A successful and engaging panel yesterday at UNISA’s Miriam Makeba Hall on language, culture and identity in geographical naming.

The conversation highlighted how place names preserve history and belonging—and the work ahead to ensure communities are heard and their stories carried forward.

Thank you to the organisers, fellow panellists and everyone who took part.
