How does a speed highline world cup race look like from up there? See it through the eyes of my GoPro 😉 First day of the elimination phase of the Kempes World Cup, I'm super happy about my performance, consistently staying below 50 seconds (100 m racing distance). The third run was not important for my standing, it was only to determine the second athlete moving on, so I could have some fun and record it. Thanks @sedlacekerika for the inspiration (she did the same in her race).

World record and vice-championship in the first ever open international 1 km highline competition in 张家界 national park, China 🥈🏆

☝️Fastest 1 kilometr crossing without falls in a competition - 14 mins 48 sec in the qualification round

✌️ Fastest 1 kilometr crossing with falls in a competition - 14 mins 29 sec in the semi-final

🌬️🏃 No falls in the final but I had not been able to present a comparable speed against the strong wind. The times from previous rounds had no influence on the final result, therefore I did not win the competition. The ultimate wind chaser and "King of Asia" is now @archiewilliamss, and I am very happy for him because we essentially represent one team, we trained together before the competition, and Archie's progress has been incredible 🙂

Big thanks to @hallamshih for organizing this competition! I really hope there will be other long distance speed highline competitions popping up all over the world now 😍 by @positively_addicted

I did not think myself capable of beating the 1 minute threshold, but actually it only took 6 tries 🔥🤩

Close races in China with the speed highline megabeast @sascha.grill 🏃🏁⛩️ Being 4th and 5th in qualification, we faced each other in the quarterfinal, which ended 2:1 in Sascha's favor. Sadly my first run got ruined by tripping on the leash... The fear of shameful performance was looming on me, but I managed to prove my worth overall - the remaining two races were very tight, on both occasions below 51 seconds for both of us, with less than a step of a difference at the finish line🔥 We were both holding back to avoid tripping on the leash, which was unusually likely in this competition due to the fact that the anchors were off-level and we raced noticeably downhill. So even if the 5th place was rather an expected position and not a great achievement for me, overall I'm happy with my performance and knowing that there's potential for more 🙂

Big thanks to @slackerioz for the work put in the organization of the event and for having us all there in Shenxianju once again 🙏 Let's continue pushing the sport together - athletes, organizers, judges and riggers all sharing the dream to make highlining not just a hobby for hippies but a universally acknowledged serious sport.

Just like my last reel, it's nothing but sharing a snapshot from my life and a somewhat futile effort aimed to redirect the audience towards YouTube where I can tell my story in a more wholesome manner. Not trying to ignite shitstorms, not doing this just to show off. Ego? Sure, there's a tiny bit of it behind virtually every post of every person on Instagram, so let's not point fingers unless he who is without sin wants to cast the first stone 🤷

Getting a perfect length of the leash is becoming more and more relevant in the world of speed highline. Depending on the weight and stiffness of the leash there's different scenarios where it can hold you back during your run, either by suddenly getting in front of your knee, your foot, or hitting your leg from behind or getting stuck on a backup loop 😤 Luckily with a bit of confidence there's a way to adjust the length without getting off the line, or even without sitting down 😄 Admittedly I haven't seen anyone else do it while standing, but adjusting it while sitting during a tandem session is common practice, so I'm not teaching some dark arcane stuff here 🪬🪄 In fact I'm not teaching anything, just showing my way of doing things, not encouraging anybody to try. Should we always check the far side anchor before going for the first session of the day? 👀⚓ The short answer would be "yes" but in practice we often don't do it even if we're aware of the risk. In the case of this 600 m highline in Argentina, I had a sketchy surprise awaiting me after a morning crossing. For four years already I have implemented yoga as an essential part of my morning routine. No fussing around, no guidance, just a fixed 5-10 minute sequence of the most intense stretches distilled from yoga videos I initially followed. Only minor adjustments over the years, adding an extra pose here and there if it feels enriching. The overall effect is amazing, it really helps to get the body awake and ready for action, get rid of soreness that one usually wakes up with. In fact now I find it hard to imagine life without morning yoga, but I guess back when I was young I didn't need to care 😅

A few more impressions from this year's Yellow River competition, captured by the one and only @aidanwilliamsphoto. From training with a T-shirt from a former Yellow River event, through qualification running side by side with @speedi_jimmy, so speedy that my 53 seconds seemed slow in comparison, up until the rainy finals where the lines were difficult for everybody and I first defeated the other speedy guy named @sascha.grill even though he took the 100 m world record from me just a few hours before, then moved on to a rematch with Jimmy, where I once again won 2 out of 3 races by simply not falling.

Gold medal despite not being particularly fast, a strange feeling and uncertain what it means for the future. Was it a stroke of luck and am I getting worse in short speedline? Or was my performance in the conditions we had still optimal? Will I get back to sub-50 second times I struck so consistently in Argentina during the next competition? Time will show, in any case it's great to be a part of the speedline scene and I hope I can inspire more people to train and help the sport grow.

The atlete shirt 👕🇵🇱🙃 Thanks to @slackhouseshop and @base_danceacademy I can now race on highlines with an attire that represents me, my country and my sponsor affiliation. It did not quite arrive on time to wear it while setting a 1 km world record at #slotwinyworldcup, but right after I had the pleasure to show it for the first time while standing on top of the podium 🏆 From that point the story continues to develop quite interestingly: I wear the shirt while giving a talk & workshop in my hometown, and on the second photo You can see me showing a clip from the Yellow River in China. One week later, I come to the Yellow River again, and have the first opportunity to actually race in my athlete shirt. It seems that the day is not ideal: I oversleep, come to my quarterfinal last minute, the line is wet and hard to control. I struggle and almost lose the quarterfinal, only my opponent's fall on the last step of the second run decided that I still have a chance. And yet, in the later phases, I endure, staying stable and fast enough in an intense downpour, while my faster opponents fall multiple times on wet surfy webbing. And thus, the dawn of my "athlete shirt phase" begins with two gold medals in one month 🥇🥇 Not expecting to keep on winning, especially seeing how the level grows everywhere, especially in China. Still, I'm excited to bring Polish colors around the world on a few more competitions in the next few years 🙂 by @positively_addicted

Primeras dos semanas en China!
Tengo tanto por decir… Primeras veces en una competencia de Highline y poniendo a Peru ahi a la vista del mundo en esta modalidad, primera vez riggeando lineas tan altas y largas, primera vez caminando lineas asi, primera vez en un Freestyle con doble bungee jaa!, primera vez de muchas cosas…

Solamente me queda agradecer a cada persona y atleta que conocí en este lugar, todxs son increibles y pude aprender mucho en este corto tiempo. En especial gracias a @slk_slacklines_official y a todo el equipo por hacer este sueño realidad y también felicitarlos por todo el esfuerzo y energía que pusieron en este gran evento. Definitivamente un ejemplo de comunidad para todo el mundo.

Sin duda mucho por recorrer, mucho por aprender y por dar. Siempre feliz de compartir lo que sé y tanto amo, mas aun en un lugar con tanta historia y tradicion. Me llevo recuerdos y memorias que nunca olvidaré, el slackline es un deporte increíble que nunca deja de sorprenderme.

Esto ya empezó y como siempre, vamos por mas !!!
