Day 6 was a long one. Beautiful morning farm views as we rolled the first 30 miles into Lincoln. We grabbed lunch, then headed up Stemple Pass. The climb started as smooth gravel, then turned steep and chunky, forcing some hike‑a‑bike before a fast descent that left brake rotors glowing and smoking as we rolled into the llama ranch. #adventurerideworks by @postridebeers

18.5 miles and 1,800 ft of climbing to a summit sitting over 6,600 ft. Views of distant snow capped peaks and a long valley descent on singletrack toward Sealy Lake. Not a bad way to start the day.We wrapped the 63 mile day in Ovando (pop. 49) with burgers and beers at Trixi’s Saloon and crashed inside the local church to avoid the heat. by @postridebeers

We loaded up on day 3 at the Ferndale mercantile, climbed 9 miles and 1,850 feet through a soft drizzle, and then descended with big grins. We wrapped a 40 mile day by pivoting from a camp spot that may have been a bit too bear friendly. Yogi count is still zero. #adventurerideworks by @postridebeers

Day 2: We stacked 75 miles for a big day linking our remote camp to two larger towns. Thirty miles of trails dropped us into some unreal BBQ, then the test of endurance began when temps pushed past 90 and headwinds ripped across farm roads for the final 45 miles into Bigfork. Challenging yet rewarding day! #adventurerideworks by @postridebeers

Montana Day 1: Our seven day leg of the GDMBR started from Eureka with a massive 2,300 foot climb followed by a dusty ride over to Polebridge for lunch. A well deserved beer and a huckleberry bearclaw fueled the next huge climb of 11.2 miles and over 1,700 ft over Red Meadow pass where we pitched tents lakeside for the first night. We met 3 other riders, two touring from France and one northbound rider from Colorado. No bears but we did see a bald eagle fly over us and perch high in a tree across the lake. by @postridebeers
