Tommy Costello 1984 , this was from one of my first rolls of film I shot. I had just gotten a Minolta srT102 with a 50mm lens. Chris and Kevin Wilson's had just built the first version of their ramp. Tom was a natural , when I tried an air I landed in the yard on my head. This was par for the course, Tom learning a new trick and me trying to figure out if I could do home surgery or if I did in fact need to go to the doctor again. If they gave out trophies for clumsy I might have had a showcase's worth. My tetanus shots were out pacing him 10 to 1. I lost count but it was over 30 at some point, I am probably set for life on the tetanus front. Now, If you pay close attention Tom is wearing an interesting pair of shorts. One of a kind for sure. He made those in a newly formed High School class called Singles Living. We could have made a sitcom based on this class. It was home economics for dyslexics, rockers, jocks, dummies and overall slackers. I'm not sure which was us but we didn't play football. Our table mate did and he was the starting quarterback. Tommy would prank him nearly daily. Salt instead of sugar when we were baking, messing with his sewing machine, giving him the wrong size patterns, etc. etc. It never ended. Tom to his credit was the only one that actually made something he wore on a regular basis. If you notice the fabric changes from blue to white. The patterns you bought for shorts in 1984 were very short. So short that this photo could have been R-rated possibly X-rated at the wrong angle. So after he modeled the 1st version in class, which was required as part of the assignment, he added the extensions made out of whatever was left over from someone else project. I am pretty sure this pair got caught on an exposed nail head at Steve Smith's Ramp and the ass got ripped right out of them. We had an hours ride home on our bike's with our skateboards on the handle bars. There were about 8 of us single file on busy roads, crossing town to visit a ramp in another city, Tom's ripped shorts had him mooning every car. We made sure he was the last person in our convoy so everyone driving got an eye full of his bare ass. He was signing the whole way. by @potscaryman
