There’s just under a week until our Boo-quet buddies workshop. We’ll start off the evening by decorating a clay ghost with dried flowers and paint. After those are done you’ll learn how to make a flower toting cheesecloth ghost. Perfect additions to your Halloween decorations.

It’s been a good season but this flower farmer is ready for winter. The u-picks are done so bring on the snow. Well maybe wait until I get my high tunnel done but then by all means let it snow!!
Anyone else ready for a cozy winter full of good books and hot chocolate?

The last u-pick of the season is Thursday Oct 15. The field will be open from 5-7pm for picking.
Bloom Buckets will be $15 off or you can bring your own bucket of any size and fill it for $45.

It’s been a fun year and I’m already looking forward to next years flowers. Come enjoy the last of our blooms and take them home to enjoy a little longer.

We had so much fun at our Pumpkin workshop last Friday. Everyone’s pumpkins turned out really cute! Thank you to everyone that came. I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Our next workshop is Boo-quet Buddies on Oct 23. We’ll be decorating clay ghosts with dried flowers and making a framed cheesecloth ghost.

Today is our Petal Pursuit from 3-7 Pm. Each of my Kiddos decided they wanted to be apart of today’s event and have worked to create something for you! When harvesting celosia for bouquets longs cuts are good. With the types that we grow the long cuts encourage the plant to send up more blooms.
Be sure to harvest flowers with firm stems so the flowers don't flop in the vase.

One of the easiest ways to dry this flower is by hang drying. I like to harvest it before it goes to seed but thankfully if you miss that stage it will still dry well. Try not to freak out when you first see the seeds that it drops. Don't worry it's not a new mouse problem, just seeds from a very prolific plant.
