Some nights feel like punctuation marks.
Tonight was one of them.

Closing out @letstacoboutwine wine bar @vintagestudiocity — a space built on generosity, curiosity, and care — felt like honoring a chapter written with intention. She is one of those rare humans who leads with kindness, listens deeply, and pours love as generously as wine.

We ended the night with a 1912 Verdelho Madeira from D’Oliveira — a wine that has outlived empires, wars, and trends. Proof that some things are built to last.

So is friendship.
So is what she’s created.

To endings that taste like gratitude — and beginnings still waiting to be poured. ✨ taken in Vintage Wine + Eats by @pourdeaux

✨1990✨ A vintage not just in Champagne, but in life — the year my husband was born. For his birthday, we opened this birth-year bottle of Dom Pérignon.

To sip it was to time-travel — jasmine and brioche, orchard fruit and minerals — tasting a little piece of the world as it was the year he arrived. A reminder that wine holds memory, spirit, and story in every bubble. We paired it with Thai at one of our favorite places, Anajak Thai, where spice, texture, and soul met the energy of the wine in perfect harmony.

Happy birthday, my love — here’s to the past, present, and all the magic still to come.

2016 Redtail @dovecotewine
Some wines feel less like a pour and more like a moment. Redtail is one of them. A tribute to the red-tailed hawks that circle Thompson Vineyard, this blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Petite Sirah carries a spirit that’s always felt personal to me.

Hawks have long been a totem in my life — a sign of clarity, strength, and freedom. When I first visited Dovecote in 2022, watching the hawks glide above the vines, it felt like the land was speaking directly to me. This wine isn’t just beautiful in the glass — it’s a reminder of that day, of alignment, of being exactly where I was meant to be.

Last night at @petitermitagehotel we cozied up by the pool for a screening of @poolsmovie with this gem: @bastian_b_ny Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature from Rheinhessen, Germany.

Made from Pinot Blanc planted in 2005 and farmed biodynamically, this Brut Nature sparkler is all about purity—juicy peach and pear, a touch of almond and honey, lifted by bright acidity. L The kind of bottle that feels right at home under the stars, fur blanket, and a little rooftop magic.

Ever heard of Pallagrello Bianco? This ancient white variety hails from Campania, Italy, and was once literally fit for royalty.

This bottle from @daverowines in Sonoma County is such a treat — a California expression of a grape with deep Italian roots. Think aromas of melon, apple, pear, citrus, and wild herbs, all wrapped up with a subtle mineral finish.

Only a handful of producers are reviving this variety today, making it a true hidden gem in the wine world.

Would you try a rare grape like this, or do you tend to stick with classics like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc?

Poolside with Les 7 by @laherteaurelien — a Champagne like no other. It’s one of the rare bottlings that blends all seven permitted grapes of Champagne (think Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, plus four ancient varieties you rarely see). The result? Bright citrus, textured stone fruit, and a whisper of spice — sunshine in a glass.

August gave me desert skies, birthday love, and bubbles that stole the show.

My friend Marissa surprised me with a very special bottle of Jacques Selosse Champagne — and I can’t stop thinking about it. This grower Champagne is one of the most iconic in the world, made by Anselme Selosse, who revolutionized Champagne by treating it more like Burgundy: single-vineyard focus, oxidative winemaking, and a deep sense of terroir. The result? A Champagne that drinks more like fine wine than just a party pour.

Between long soaks at Two Bunch Palms, desert sunsets, and laughter with my people, this bottle made the weekend unforgettable.

📍 Desert escapes, unforgettable pours, and memories bottled up forever.

Walking into @thecopperroom1957 felt like stepping into a memory that wasn’t mine.

Opened in 1957, it was once a private airport dinner house for pilots, celebrities, and musicians chasing the desert hush. A place where martinis clinked under low lights and jazz wrapped around people like silk.

As I sipped bubbles and let the live saxophone drift over me, I thought about time – how places hold stories long after we’re gone. How we leave traces of ourselves in the clink of a glass, the warmth of a laugh, the soft rhythm of a song.

Maybe that’s why I love Champagne so much. Every bubble is an echo of something fleeting, beautiful, and alive for just a moment.

Cacio e pepe – three ingredients, infinite pairing debates.

Some say Champagne for the acid and texture, others swear by a mineral-driven Vermentino or a saline Etna Bianco.

Personally, I love how Champagne’s autolytic notes mirror the nuttiness of pecorino, while the bubbles scrub the palate clean for the next creamy bite.
