Photos x some of my favorite parts of my RaveScout mix (feat. a voicemail from @emmanuela_gore ).

Thank you to @ravescout for having me. And shoutout to @andrewlenox_music for helping with the voicemail overlay and mastering.

NYC-based by way of Boston, @powers_mj brings a dancer-first instinct to the booth. His sound moves through electro, club pressure, and genre-fluid dance music, shaped by Boston’s underground rooms, early trips to New York, and the release found on the floor.

For Rave Scout Mix #099, @powers_mj reflects on his first year in NYC through memory, movement, and loose intuition. The result is a restless, dance-forward mix that listens through the body.

SOLVNT (noun): dance forward, genre fluid.

What was initially a concept I was incubating back in Boston is officially a party I am throwing at home. SOLVNT’s inaugural launch is happening Monday October 6th at Bossa Nova Civic Club from 10p-4a. Joining the lineup are the fab Sierella (@dontcallmeone), SIETE (@siete.sev ), and sola system (@solasystem_).

See you in solution ~

First NYC summer has been fierceeee. So incredibly grateful for the friends and queer community that I’ve made here (many not pictured bc I’ve learned I’m terrible at taking photos). Wake that up, boots by @powers_mj
