From Vortex Cannon vs Drone on the Mark Rober channel. Shout-out to Noble’s team who handled the parts you don’t see—the steel frame underneath and the electrical+motor programming.

This was such a weird time in my career. All of my woodworking and sculpture tools (along with most everything else) were lost when my van was stolen in the process of moving my shop from Seattle to central cal. I remember just wanting to make stuff so badly and struggling to find the means to make that a priority while also needing to replace all of my other essentials. When I was first invited into the Mark Rober shop I felt like I could build for days straight without stopping (and kind of did). I only owned like 3 pairs of socks at that moment, all of them had blown out toes and heels, and I had to bandage my blistering feet at the end of each of those first few nights.

I have really comfortable socks now, btw.

Starting a long overdue catch up of everything I’ve been working on these last 2.5 years…

Built these oversized catapults — scaled 2×, 3×, 5×, and 7× from the original toy — plus the giant BuildBox box with the awesome @lorenjgraves for the Mark Rober + CrunchLabs YouTube channels.

Honestly, working behind the scenes on projects like this is wild. Everything moves quickly, the scale is massive, and the teams are packed with ridiculously talented people.

Since leaving Meow Wolf, I’ve been freelancing up and down the West Coast, finding the space where art, science, and engineering overlap — and figuring out how to build a life around it.

The initial stages of the reef build.

I had the great pleasure of going out to New Mexico TWICE this year to work on the @_thelonelyreef_ art car. Getting to work along side my old Meow Wolf pals in such a creatively unrestrained environment made this project one of the most fulfilling in my career so far.
