Fams 💟

Last Friday, I premiered my thesis @diana.shortfilm at VC Film Fest (Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival). Y'all know much it takes to make a film (crying inside). I'm extremely proud of the work by my team. I appreciate your trust and patience 🫶 It means everything to me and this project.

It's been a roller coaster finishing and showing this film. I want to shout out to my partner @ninaspheres 🖤 for your unconditional support, love, and amazing work you've put into this film. It felt great to hold your hands in the theater when the light went down 💞

Programmer @emilykhoang asked a question that stayed with me. The question was "How have you grown from making the film?" For me, it was a cycle of getting lost and finding myself again, as a human being and an artist...Searching, searching, searching...

Some roughly graded & ungraded stills from "Little Arabia, Next Exit", a UCLA thesis EP & written-directed by @el_majusi

It was a blast for me to work on this film as the cinematographer! Genuinely missed those meetings from 10pm to 4am in the morning where the director and I got to brainstorm story and visuals in a state of near insanity and the insurmountable drive the whole team had trying to grab the shot before the daylight died out 🥹

I was so lucky to to work with so many other beautiful ppl: The icon & my go-to emotional and professional support AD @marc.thureaudangin; The legendary backbone & hella hard-working Gaffer @johnathenharris ; The T1.3 conqueror / my anime small talk go-to 1st AC @kevin_silva_owl ; The hella kind & cool Key Grip @breakingsocialnorms_ and @yorickmfilms ; The hella hard-working and supportive 2nd AC @avenuegio ; The EPIC G&E crew including BBE @katya_35mm , BBG @mattkclary , Swing @hweii.i , Grip @scribe_called_wes and @robbie.glenn.376 ; The angel DIT & my future cat babysitter @lyncis_niu ; The hella nice and supportive Producer @odincontreras; The AMAZING Lead Actor/Producer @myrr.i.am ; The ICONIC sound mixer @danakopetzky ; The lovely & hard-working Scripty @yulia13713 ...

Thank you all, for your generosity, patience and support 🙏 It was my honor to work with each one of you.

Also need to shout out to @ryho.dp , @yuxin.zyx , and @daeildale for your support by providing me with valuable advice on various aspects of working as a DP!! You are much, much appreciated! by @ppp1bgn
