Cian McCarthy is an audiovisual artist and researcher whose practice explores how technology shapes and mediates perception. Working across sound, moving image, installation, and experimental instrument building, his research investigates sensory difference, technological distortion, and embodied listening. Through the use of obsolete media, field recordings, glitch processes, and immersive audiovisual environments, he creates works that examine the relationship between the body, technology, memory, and perception. Combining analogue and digital methodologies, his installations and performances invite audiences to engage with alternative modes of sensing, listening, and experiencing the world.

Rather than following a fixed path, Mattia Onori builds immersive sonic environments where memory, space, and perception slowly dissolve into one another. Moving through expansive ambient landscapes, textured sound, and subtle narrative gestures, his work unfolds as an invitation to listen beyond the visible, morphing sound into an intimate, contemplative experience.
Living between worlds, rooted in her Slavic heritage, Berlin-based electronic musician and DJ Suzana Benesova delicately guides listeners into and through the depths of their inner knowing. She weaves her sonic alchemy through multiple undertakings, including her curatorial creation, Insomniambule ๐–ค unconfined by genre.
Mattia Onori & Suzana Benesovaโ€™s collaboration opens new artistic practices, and marks their research through a shared exploration of voice, attentive listening, and electroacoustic composition.

๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ฉ & ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ present ๐˜๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ?, an intimate event creating a test space for three works in progress sitting within electroacoustic ambient music, spoken word and experimental self-built instruments.

Opening the night is Alexandra Gruebler who will perform Seta, a newly developed interplay of vocal grains, field recordings and spoken word. It is about heartbreak, but the silken, liminal kind. An attempt of sonic embroidery emerging from the residual and deepened interest for modalities of grief and loss at the intersection of voice(s)/ (human + more than human), as connective, affective intensities, that exceed fixed boundaries and hold deep alchemical properties.

The second act features Cian McCarthy, presenting a live sound performance that draws from a collection of sounds including field recordings captured in natural environments, industrial estates, and suburban spaces, alongside material generated using analogue synthesisers and sound modules.

Mattia Onori and Suzana Benesova close the evening by presenting their new collaborative material โ€“ a blend of experimental ambient music, electroacoustic textures, and spoken word. Unfolding in a focused listening environment, the session explores the relationship between sound, language, memory, and presence.

The event takes place at a private Berlin location, close to GneisenaustraรŸe U.

Natalia Panzer is primarily a writer, but her practice extends across radio, DIY publishing and spoken word. Since Last (2024) wrapped wistful vocals around the dream-like disorientation of delicate piano and electronics, while key (2025) draped hazed spoken word in lush, romantic atmospheres.

Natalia will perform a rendition of her new work, ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ด ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ด๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ช๐˜ญ, published by blush and Lunchtime Gallery.

Nadia Marcus (*1993, New York City) is a poet, designer, DJ and co-editor of TABLOID Press, a publishing house and media imprint founded in Berlin in 2014. Her poetry, art criticism and lyric journalism have recently appeared in Ezio Gribaudo: Weight of the Concrete, Arts of the Working Class, and The Ransom Note.

Nadia will perform a selection of poems that concern themselves with light, movement (material, chronological, spiritual), and the irregular weave of time and space that lyric can initiate.

This project launches with its first event in collaboration with Glasgow record-label blush, to celebrate the release of the forthcoming edition, ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ด ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ด๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ช๐˜ญ, by Natalia Panzer.

The evening brings together two artists working across literature, music and performance. Natalia Panzer is primarily a writer, but her practice extends across radio, DIY publishing and spoken word.

๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ด ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ด๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ช๐˜ญ is Nataliaโ€™s first published solo work โ€“ wide in both reference and form. Originally composed as a score for a live set in Glasgow, the work was rerecorded and will be released as a tape and publication, in collaboration with blush and Lunchtime Gallery.

Operating somewhere between an album, an audiobook, and the soundtrack to an imagined film, it calls to the playful, quietly ecstatic spoken word of Robert Ashley and the freeform collaged voice of Paddy McAloon's timeless

Panzer's narration spirals through themes of light, movement and fabric, colour, water and dance โ€“ a response to three works: a ballet by William Forsythe, a fashion presentation by Carol Christian Poell, and a documentary on Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake.

Constructed around an elusive mosaic of samples, Panzer searches for the absolute in cascading, dreamy prose. Her narration moves as a guiding presence, fracturing into the freedom of possibility, in a dance of chance, repetition, and change.

Natalia will perform the work live, joined by Nadia Marcus for additional contextual poetry readings. Nadia is a poet, designer, DJ and co-editor of TABLOID Press.

The event takes place at Salon Am Moritzplatz, Berlin, a short walk from Moritzplatz U.

Wednesday, 20 May, 7pm

Suggested donation upon entry 7-10eur.

The edition will be available to buy at the event.
