very pleased to share the recording of my set at the first @blip_______ last friday. this was the first time in many years that i arrived to a party just with just a record bag, and it’s not possible to imagine a greater pleasure than playing the records you love to the people you love.

whilst the music might say otherwise, it was a mildly emotional one for me, so thanks everyone for coming to listen. i was also very happy to include lots of music from the fixation labels of my youth like minus and electronica romana, and im really glad it’s socially acceptable to listen to and play this stuff again.

feels crazy to say but today I announce the release of the first music from me in almost 4 years. These tracks are straight from my musical heart and I’m so excited to be able to finally share them.

Both of the tracks “Writing On The Body” and “Yes”draw and sample some core influences such as Perlon, Swayzak, tektonik and Melbourne shuffle and Guy Pearce’s character Leonard Shelby in the movie Memento. It was truly the most rewarding experience to collage all of these things into music. I decided against some kind of PR offensive, and I hope these tracks find their audience organically.

Thank you to the people who have guided me back to the place in life where I can make music again. You know who you are and it means everything to do it all again 💗

Sounds that grow on your brain like fungi on the forest floor 🪨🌱
Next to take centre-stage on Phrygia is @ppppppuddinggggggg 🏢👾

It’s quite unusual for a minimal set to close a day of techno and house, but we had a feeling this set would be special.
Jack’s two and a half hour journey through his deep record collection is an audible feast served via pure passion and understanding.
The mix draws listeners into the nuanced and textured world of minimal with two purposes - to make people dance and feel 💆‍♂️
Each track is selected to create an emotional ride in which the audience can put aside discourse surrounding preferences or genres, and just enjoy music.

Pudding’s talents are on full display for Phrygia, as we get to watch him handle unfamiliar turntables with kinks and adapt to these on-the-fly with skill only gained from experience.

An event that is a step in the right direction for a city with too much corporate interest in the dance scene 💰

pleased to share my recording from the most recent and a personal fav blip. we had just two week to organise everything, but you make it happen no matter what for your favourite artists. it was a big pleasure to have noizar in brisbane and to play some records before him…i hope you enjoy the listen :)

if you do find these sounds tolerable, or even enjoyable - we have a couple more things coming up before we take a little winter break

adventure club is a new venture from blip, for discfuntional music delivered by 2manydjs on 3manyturntables. an outlet for music otherwise not reasonable or acceptable on any other dancefloor in brisbane, or even possibly australia.

at blip we’d like to push back against the concept of the 1 hour set time. pay for 0 hours, and you’ll get a minimum of 5. the concept is rather simple, adventure club will have residents and special friends of blip playing back to back for 5+ hours. first up on the silver xone is co-founders jaxon and jack, otherwise known as @creasedvenetian and @ppppppuddinggggggg, playing b2b for the very first time and probably the last

they’ll switch the cdjs off, if you promise to switch your brain off and accept whatever comes after that. this is a safe space for those records that have been sitting overlooked in the crates, for those records that are residency ending and “I don’t think we should book them again” inducing...

at adventure club, house music is still a nation, it’s just a failed micro state. come help us elect a new president

aussies into minimal? call that droughtrock, played thoughtfully to you on a sunday evening.. the otherwise designated time for debauchery anywhere else, but is an often slept-through afterthought in brisbane. we’re here to try change that!

ever wondered what patrick cowley releasing music on kompakt would sound like? it’s possible that creasedvenetian and pudding have the records to match

it’s gonna get unintelligible, yet still be intelligent. jaxon can’t wait to show you the cricket scores, and all of the new french words he’s been learning. jack can’t wait to play the record that got his collectives residency at revolver canned in 2017

a sunday party, in brisbane? will it fail? we hope not.. does it matter? not so much, we’ll still be there. we live in a time where sugar free lollies are selling better than the full sugar ones. that’s nothing to be sniffed at

and just like that blip number 3 has come and gone, and we can safely say that this was our favourite one yet. with just a couple of weeks to put all the pieces together, it all came together so perfectly. once again it was so special to see new faces and old friends connecting with the music and with one another… we’re very motivated to keep creating these spaces for queensland into the future

thank you brother @wickedbass for blessing us with your sound, to @pond_fogger & @eeeeeeb.y for setting the tone so graciously and also @asasimard / @bonniedoon_bar for being our dream venue and so supportive of our vision for the parties

keep sunday the 3rd of may free, we go again on a sunday but this time with a slightly different format 🫟
