The PPS College & Career Readiness Department in collaboration with the High School College Coordinators is accepting nominations for four culturally-specific all-expenses paid out-of-state college tours that will take place this spring! More information below and on the link in our bio.

Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and Cultural Tour: Sat, Mar 25 - Sat, April 1 or Sat, April 15 - Sat, April 22 [FLIER]

Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) and Latinx Cultural Tour: Mon, April 10 - Sun, April 16 [FLIER]

- Tribal New Mexico College Tour and Gathering of Nations Powwow: Mon, April 24 - Sat, April 29 [FLIER]

The college and cultural tour opportunities seek to engage and prioritize our historically underserved students and students who will be the first in their family to attend college and/or who may have never otherwise had the opportunity to tour colleges.

Students, parents/guardians, PPS staff, and community partners can submit nominations by January 20th at Noon. Nominations of 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students can be submitted here:

Join the PPS Community Budget Review Committee (CBRC)!

The CBRC reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the Board of Education regarding the Superintendent's Proposed Budget and any other budgetary issues. The CBRC also monitors and advises the Board on the allocation and expenditure of Local Option Levy funds.

Applications are due September 16th, 2022.

The PPS Energy & Sustainability Team is hosting a Climate Justice Teach-In: Teaching Against Climate Despair on May 23rd, from 4-5:30, co-sponsored by the PPS Climate Justice Committee and the Portland Association of Teachers.

Are you a teacher, student, community member, or school administrator who wants to be a part of the climate education solution? Join us as teachers from around Portland share ways that they creatively incorporate climate change and climate justice topics into their classrooms, from art and activism to indigenous knowledge to the science and economics of a green future.
