Change isn't something I've embraced easily for the longest time. I like the same old. The thing is though, He speaks many times in His word about change.

2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP
[17] Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

John 3:3 AMP
[3] Jesus answered him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.”

Romans 6:12-13 AMP
[12] Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts and passions. [13] Do not go on offering members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness. But offer yourselves to God [in a decisive act] as those alive [raised] from the dead [to a new life], and your members [all of your abilities—sanctified, set apart] as instruments of righteousness [yielded] to God.

He doesn't want us to wallow in mud anymore. It's up to us to reach out to that extended hand that's offering to pull us out.

Are you ever hit with that realization of just how filthy you are?

"OH MY DAYS THIS IS HOW NASTY I AM???"

Just me?

Zechariah 3:1-3 NKJV
[1] Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. [2] And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” [3] Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel.

Verse 4 and beyond goes on to speak of the Angel of the Lord having those filthy garments removed and having new ones put on Joshua. Then it is explained that how that is a symbol of the removal of iniquity.

If you are like me, one day the Lord will show you who you really are. He will make you realize that you are really stinking it up. That is, if you let him.

The pride, selfishness or whatever it is will one day attack your [spiritual] nose so much so that you can't waste another second and immediately want to wash it off [only the blood of Jesus can wash it away]

It has taken me a while to truly grasp just how much damage I've caused, how much pain I've inflicted. How far back the trail of destruction goes. All this while blinded by, "yeah but you've done worse to me", "it's not that deep" "let it go".

Wild, I know.

In this realization then came an ever deeper understanding of "what can wash away my sin? Nothing But The Blood of Jesus"

I John 1:7-9 NKJV
[7] But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. [8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So what's my encouragement? (as we would say during testimony time at church)

James 4:6-8, 10 AMP
[6] But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haugh taken in Word alive Church. Mandala by @pr0d167

Romans 5:7-8 NKJV
[7] For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. [8] But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

https://bible.com/bible/114/rom.5.7-8.NKJV

Doesn't it sound nice? To be loved regardless of our shortcomings, our flaws. To be loved by someone who would never withdraw their love. No matter how many times you broke their heart.

We, the wicked, so undeserving of His love. He decides to give this perfect love of His anyway. taken in Word alive Church. Mandala by @pr0d167

1 Peter 5:8-9 AMPC
[8] Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. [9] Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset–rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.

Fortify. Your. Minds. Lest you trip up on this marathon. Lest you think you can indulge in some dark arts and it won't affect you. Lest he gets you when your guard is down. Don't put down the weapon, keep it in your hand. It Ain't Safe.

Ephesians 6:11-13 AMP
[11] Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. [12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. [13] Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. taken in Word alive Church. Got a little something for the overthinkers (includes myself). I've been trying to hold onto hope that things will work out. That they will fall into place. That it does get better. But my mind is almost always constantly coming up with all the possible ways it could all end horribly. I am being reminded a lot about how important having the right mindset is for everyday life. I'm learning this from some around me who are more optimistic about my life than I even am.

The apostle Paul told the Phillippians something really reassuring;

‭Philippians 4:6-8 NLT‬
[6] Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. [7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. [8] And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

If you're gonna think a lot, think about those things. taken in Blantyre, Malawi by @pr0d167

Count It All Joy yes but also just have joy man.

‭I Thessalonians 5:16 NKJV‬
[16] Rejoice always

The verse doesn't say "rejoice when you have everything you want or rejoice when everything works out the way you want it to". You probably think that having everything you want in life will put a never fading smile on your face. It won't. You don't need to have everything you want to have joy. It makes sense that joy, being a long lasting state of being unlike happiness, which can fade much easier, can come from the everlasting source that is God.

The Preacher/Teacher/Philosopher said;

‭Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 NKJV‬
[24] Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God. [25] For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I? [26] For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.

Instead of embarking on the Pursuit of Happyness or in this case, joy, why don't you pursue God? taken in College Of Medicine(COM) by @pr0d167

I want you 2 believe there's Purpose in Pain. Count It All Joy when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. They force your faith-life into the open and show it's true colours. Don't try to stop them from doing what they're supposed to do. They will help you become mature and well developed so that you are not deficient in any way. Count It All Joy when they mock you for being a God-girl whose test results weren't perfect this time. Count It All Joy when they root against you, when they choose to join the other team. Count It All Joy when they try to pull you into darkness/abyss time and time again.

Count It All Joy when those who don't believe what you believe in, Who you believe in, outwardly express their disdain for you;

‭Matthew 5:11-12 GNT‬
[11] “Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers. [12] Be happy and glad, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven. This is how the prophets who lived before you were persecuted.

We believe that He died and rose again. The cross symbolizes that. His death on the cross. We believe that He did what He did for us, on our behalf. So that we may be saved. Saved from the punishment that was meant for us all. For God so loved us that He allowed all that to happen, so we can be reconciled with Him. Who's we? Anybody who believes.

‭Ephesians 2:16-18 GNT‬
[16] By his death on the cross Christ destroyed their enmity; by means of the cross he united both races into one body and brought them back to God. [17] So Christ came and preached the Good News of peace to all—to you Gentiles, who were far away from God, and to the Jews, who were near to him. [18] It is through Christ that all of us, Jews and Gentiles, are able to come in the one Spirit into the presence of the Father.

We have come together because of this belief. We are together because of this belief. We will be together because of this belief. Because of this act of love. This act of sacrifice. Irrespective of where we have come from and who we were...
We. Are. Now. One. Thanks to what He did.

Today we rejoice in His resurrection. We rejoice in the completion of what He wanted for us, for our sake. For we know that all this was so that His love for us can echo in us...

...This state of hearty apathy is weird but also pretty interesting. It's like I can love out loud but not as loud as I've been known to do. I care but not as much as I once could. Remember the verse I quoted in the previous post? I've been trusting God to give me a new heart. Can't keep asking Him to patch this one up when I can ask Him to do what He's done before. He's already given me New Eyes, surely He can give me Much More. One thing I know for sure is that the issues of life flow from the heart. A new heart is one of the things I need to handle the issues of life that are coming in the future. This isn't the start of hearty apathy* , this is the resolution/conclusion. This is The End. taken in Pa Zodetsa by @pr0d167

Those who know me know I feel things deeply. Well, feeling things has gotten harder. Whatever feeling you can think of, I can feel it with much less intensity. I like to liken emotions to colours. My rainbow has faded.

I've been reminded of this Word time and time again though;

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[26] And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

It has started to make sense that what has been corrupted in me is corrupting everything else. So my corrupted heart needs to be renewed. Apathy is a lack of interest, enthusiasm or concern. This state of hearty apathy where I still feel but I feel much less is as a result of the corruption process. Who can relate?... taken in Pa Zodetsa by @pr0d167

Have you ever been hurt to the point of switching to an apathetic lifestyle? You're not heartless, you're still somewhat hearty but your heart's slowly becoming a heart of stone? It's not the heart of flesh that we're all expected to have? This isn't hearty apathy*, this is just the prologue. taken in Kamuzu College of Nursing, Blantyre Campus by @pr0d167

I believe there is Purpose In Pain. There has to be a reason behind the pain and suffering we've experienced. Something we needed to learn, to see, to grasp, to master, to help us in the future. James 1:2-4 for one says the trials test your faith to produce endurance. What are your trials telling you? taken in Word alive Church. Mandala by @pr0d167
