Two leopards. A male and a female. One rocky resting spot. For a brief moment, everything seemed calm in the wilderness. And then, without warning, the silence was broken by an explosive encounter!

During the breeding season,These encounters can involve courtship, vocalisations, physical contact and sometimes aggressive exchanges.

What may look like a sudden fight to us could be part of a complex interaction involving dominance, mating behaviour or the female responding to the male's advances. Without observing the complete behavioural sequence, it is difficult to determine the exact reason behind this particular encounter.

Every movement, every swipe and every reaction tells a story. In the wild, even a moment of apparent companionship can turn into an intense display of feline power.

This is the beauty of wildlife photography — you don't always know what nature has planned next. Sometimes, the most extraordinary moments happen when you least expect them.

Two magnificent predators. One unpredictable encounter. Nature, completely unscripted!

The light was fading. The distance was unforgiving. Every detail was a challenge. But sometimes, nature offers a moment so extraordinary that you simply keep filming.

Captured in difficult low-light conditions, this footage is a reminder that photography isn't always about perfect light, close encounters, or crystal-clear frames. Sometimes, it's about patience, persistence, and being there when the wild reveals something unforgettable.

Two magnificent cats. One fleeting encounter. A memory that will last forever.

The European Roller is a true traveller of the skies. Breeding across Europe and parts of western and central Asia, this spectacular bird undertakes an incredible seasonal migration to sub-Saharan Africa, escaping the northern winter for warmer grounds.

A journey spanning thousands of kilometres, powered by instinct and the timeless rhythm of nature.

In slow motion, its brilliant turquoise plumage and graceful movements reveal a beauty that often escapes the naked eye.

A small bird. An extraordinary journey. The magic of the wild.

When the last light fades over the Western Ghats, the king of shadows reveals a glimpse of his wild side.

A mighty yawn, a fleeting moment of calm, and a reminder that even the most elusive predator has moments of stillness. The jungle belongs to those who know how to disappear into the darkness.

A striking silhouette of a Black Panther against the deep blue evening sky. Above it, clouds drift slowly across the mountains, painting a scene that feels almost unreal.

No rush. No sound but the whispers of the wild. Just the Panther, the mountains, and time moving in slow motion.

The wild doesn't always need light to shine. Sometimes, darkness reveals its greatest masterpiece.

A long-distance traveller at Singanallur Lake — the Black-tailed Godwit.

This evening, I was fortunate to spot a Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa) at Singanallur Lake and capture this beautiful moment in slow motion.

Black-tailed Godwits are remarkable migratory waders. Many populations breed across the wetlands and grasslands of northern Europe and Asia, before undertaking long seasonal journeys southwards to spend the non-breeding season in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.

During migration and winter, they depend heavily on shallow wetlands, marshes, flooded grasslands, mudflats, paddy fields and lake margins. These habitats provide the invertebrates and other small aquatic organisms they need to fuel their long journeys.

What makes a sighting like this special is the journey behind it. A bird standing quietly on the edge of an urban lake may have travelled thousands of kilometres to reach a suitable wetland.

Singanallur Lake is more than just a lake within the city — it is a small but important stopover and feeding habitat for waterbirds and other migratory visitors. Protecting these wetlands means protecting the invisible routes that connect distant ecosystems across continents.

A little glimpse of one traveller on its incredible journey.

A sighting like this isn't just another tick on a bird list—it's a privilege, a fleeting glimpse into the hidden life of one of India's most beautiful kingfishers.

One of the most memorable moments from my night birding trip to Thattekad was encountering this juvenile Spot-bellied Eagle-Owl. Even at a young age, its piercing gaze, beautifully patterned plumage, and calm confidence hinted at the powerful nocturnal hunter it will one day become.

Unlike adults, juveniles often retain softer, fluffier feathers while gradually developing the bold markings that make this magnificent owl one of India's most sought-after forest raptors. Watching it sit silently under the forest canopy was a reminder that the rainforest truly comes alive after sunset.

The Spot-bellied Eagle-Owl is an elusive resident of dense forests across the Western Ghats and parts of peninsular India. More often heard than seen, its deep, resonant calls echo through the night, making every sighting a privilege for birders and wildlife photographers alike.

Moments like these reinforce why protecting our forests is so important. Every ancient tree, every patch of undisturbed habitat, and every quiet night helps ensure that remarkable species like this continue to thrive.
