Apparently, the skin that I used to hate growing up…... it turns GOLDEN under the sun.💛

As I grew up I saw people glorifying fair skin and putting down people who had dark skin. I used to try so hard to fit in.

“You should not wear dark coloured clothes.”
“You should not stay in the sun for too long; it will make you even darker.”
“You have such nice features; you would have looked really beautiful with fair skin.”
“You should apply this; it will make your skin fairer.”

And so much more.....

The kind of compliments that I used to receive were
“Wow! You look fair today.”

My dark skin tone became my identity. I don’t even remember how many times I have cried feeling ugly.
How many times I used to question God, "Why did you make me like this?”

One day when I was in adoration, I asked Jesus, “Papa just for once I want to feel beautiful.” And my Papa always listens to me. Neither did He change my skin tone nor the way I looked, but He unveiled my eyes. He gave me the grace to look at myself the way He does. After the adoration even when I was soaked in sweat and my hair was all messed up, I felt beautiful..... My heart was healed.

Just because people fail to see, that does not change the truth that, we are created beautiful in our own ways and above all, we are created in His image.

Thank you Jesus for being the love my heart was always thirsting for.♥️✨

For every wound that people gave me, every hurt and grief I carried and every moment that broke my heart from childhood until now. You healed those wounds during this retreat even the ones I thought would always remain broken.
Lord, I had been thirsting everywhere in people and in things for a love that could truly fill my heart. In this Thirst Retreat, you showed me that the love I had been searching for was always found in you. You filled that emptiness with your love.🤍

I also carried an insecurity about my singing. I was always hesitant and afraid to sing but now I am singing this song for you Jesus. What once made me insecure has become another way for me to worship you.🌷

This has been one of the best retreat of my life. It felt like you embraced me again, brought me closer to your heart and gave me another chance to experience your love so deeply. Thank you for finding me, healing me, loving me, and bringing me back closer to you. I am forever grateful and truly blessed.🕊️❤️‍🔥

When I create a painting, I eagerly wait for people to see and notice the little details that I added.
I wonder how eagerly God the Father, who is also the best artist, might be waiting for us to notice His artwork and notice the tiny details in His masterpieces.
The pretty skin tone, these beautiful smiles, the waves, fluffy clouds, the sand…..
Yes Lord! I notice the pretty details that you add in your paintings..
The same hands that shaped the waves, the depths, the clouds and the sky also created us with so much love, care and detail…. But so often do I fail to pause and notice and praise His efforts.
No one reads long captions anyways, but for the one who does a small reminder that You Are God’s Masterpiece.❤️ taken in Velankanni, Tamil Nadu by @prachi_minj

There was one day I used to pray for a kind of friendship that felt safe, a kind of friendship that is filled with love yet doesn’t demand something in return, a kind of friendship that is unconditional, a kind of friendship where I can be myself, and above all a kind of friendship that is centered around Christ.
And God blessed me with Jesus Youth Movement and these amazing people whom I now call my family.
Different ages but yet so many similarities, different personalities but one faith, different hearts but same love, the Love of God….❤️
