Our first long trip with Norma, our MAN TGE 4x4 van, made by @norantz . Three weeks in the Pyrenees and it was amazing. The dogs loved their new home on the road and the van was great on and off the roads.
Lot's of wildlife and many hours of walking, running and driving off the beaten track on small roads and tracks discovering northern Spain.
Loved the van and the life outdoors

Val d'Aran by UTMB, the European Major of the Series. On Friday at 6am I was at the start line to run the CdH, 110km and 6400m D+ in the beautiful Pyrenees. A lot of work with my coach @sharmanian had gone into the preparation, getting me physically fit but also, and more importantly working on the mental aspect of my racing.
As always my amazing wife Fiona was by my side, not only looking after me during the race but also our four dogs who were with us on the trip.
During the race there were the expected up and downs, the moment of asking yourself "why?", the times where no more gel can be consumed and the energy levels are getting close to red.
But seeing Fiona and the help of the amazing @juandomingodeportes gives me that bit of extra motivation.
At km 88, just before the last crewed aid station I had a stupid fall and dislocated my shoulder. A fellow runner popped it back in and it was just one more thing to deal with.
In the end I crossed the finish line, tired, hurting but happy. First place in my age group and very grateful that I can do these crazy adventures. by @prachtstefan

Thames Path 100, a 100mile run from Richmond, London to Oxford along the river Thames. A 12th place overall and a win in M50-59.
Looking back to the weekend I'm feeling so blessed and grateful to the people that help me achieving my dreams. My amazing crew, Sarah, Matt, Megs and Raz. My cousin Thorsten who flew over from Germany to pace me over the last 35km, the love of my life Fiona who stayed up all night to watch the tracker and being "mission control". My great coach @sharmanian who programmed the perfect build up to the race. And last but not least the fantastic team and volunteers of @centurionrunning who put on an amazing event.
Yes, I had my struggles and things did not go to plan. I stayed way behind my goal and did not meet my (high) expectations. But being surrounded by good friends and sharing the experience is way more than a time goal.
Thank you all and see you soon again. by @prachtstefan

After three years of running in the mountains and chasing vertical gains it was time for a change. Talking to my coach @sharmanian we decided to focus on some flatter races in the first half of '26. One highlight was the German championships over 50km last weekend in Bremen. On a cold and misty morning the gun went off and I suffered my way to a silver medal in my age group in a time of 3 hours 44 minutes.
Many thanks to the great team of Spiridon Frankfurt, congratulations to all my teammates for finishing and achieving podiums, without their encouragement and support it would have been much harder and a lot less fun. Also thanks to @maximilianavis_ for all the support and showing me Bremen.

Vuelta a Sierra Espuña, 55km with 2100m of climbing on my beautiful home trails. After VdA in July and my arm fracture 5 weeks ago I had scaled back the training and it showed. For about half the race I was able to run with a small front group but when we got into the technical part I had to let go and slow down. My confidence and my legs were not yet there to push on this terrain. Took it easy in the second half, even managed to run with Mira Rai for the last 12km and finished in 10th place. Now a couple of days rest and then start of a marathon block. by @prachtstefan

Experiencing EXCELLENCE!
2 ½ weeks ago I had a fall while running on a small trail in the Sierra, one of those moments when you know right away that it is bad; my wrist was not looking good.
Fiona was alerted as my watch had sent an automated emergency message telling her that I had had an accident. She found me and after a short visit to the doctor the x-ray confirmed my suspicion: double fracture of the radius near the wrist. The trauma doctor at the hospital tried to reset the fracture and then put the wrist and arm in a cast. “four weeks rest, no sport and then we will see” Not an acceptable comment and not a scenario I was happy with.
When we got home I messaged our friend Juanfry Abellan @jfabellan , traumatology doctor who has supported and treated world and Olympic champions and most importantly is an athlete himself and understands the mindset of “crazy” people. He was on holiday with his family but answered all my questions regarding my fracture and treatment. Three days after the accident we met and after the informative consultation it was clear to me that the only viable way forward was to operate and fix the fracture with a plate. Less than 24 hours later I not only had the operation done but was already back home. I am wearing a wrist brace, the scar is healing and last week I ran every day for an hour on the treadmill. It is hard to express how thankful I am to Juanfry and how much I am in awe of the excellence he showed in his craft. Not (only) because he allowed me to get back to my sport so quickly but his work ensured that I will have full functionality and strength in my hand and wrist again. His work continues with regular check-ups at @helpiasalud in Murcia and physio treatment in Totana at Fisioma.
My next race is in 2 weeks and I have the go-ahead to compete (with the brace) 🤣 Thank you Juanfry
