We’re delighted to share some very special news! 🤩

Our Founder and Director @stevegove, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by His Majesty King Charles III for his extraordinary services to UK/Czech Republic cultural relations.
The MBE is one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious honours, recognising outstanding contributions to public life, culture, education, charitable work and international relations. The award was announced as part of this year’s King’s Birthday Honours, and Steve will formally receive it at an investiture ceremony in London later this year.

Reflecting on the honour, Steve said:
“I am humbled and deeply honoured to have received this award. Prague Fringe started as just an idea while at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe back in the year 2000. To have got it off the ground and establish it in a city and a country that I love so much has been such an incredible joy for me. Here’s to the next 25 years.”

What was I doing in Prague at 5 a.m. with artists from all over the world? ✨
A few months ago, I decided to apply for the @praguefringe , one of Europe’s leading theatre festivals. Only three Italian artists were selected this year—and I was one of them.
That’s where my first international production, The High Priestess, began.
After the journey of La Papessa at the @fringe_milano_off_festival I embraced the challenge of bringing the project abroad. Translating it wasn’t easy, but that challenge became an opportunity to create a completely new version of the show, with a renewed direction, visual identity, and artistic language designed for an international audience.
In Prague, I shared the stage with artists from all over the world, became part of an incredible creative community, and my international debut was honoured with the Prague Fringe 2026 Inspiration Award 🥹🏆🙏🏻
Sometimes all it takes is the courage to take a chance… That’s where dreams begin to change direction and become reality! ❤️

Cosa ci faccio alle 5 del mattino a Praga con artisti da tutto il mondo? ✨

Qualche mese fa ho deciso di candidarmi al PRAGUE FRINGE FESTIVAL, uno dei festival di teatro più importanti d’Europa. Gli artisti italiani selezionati erano solo tre. Io ero una di loro.

Così è nato il mio primo spettacolo internazionale: THE HIGH PRIESTESS.

Dopo il percorso de La Papessa al MILANO OFF FRINGE, ho raccolto la sfida di portare questo progetto all’estero. Tradurlo è stato complesso, ma proprio da quella difficoltà è nata una nuova versione dello spettacolo, con una regia, un’estetica e un’identità completamente rinnovate, pensate per un pubblico internazionale.

A Praga ho condiviso il palco con artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo, ho trovato una comunità incredibile e il mio debutto internazionale è stato premiato con il PRAGUE FRINGE 2026 INSPIRATION AWARD🏆

A volte sta tutto nel trovare il CORAGGIO di provarci. Perché è proprio lì che i SOGNI iniziano a cambiare direzione… ❤️

Per anni mi sono sentita dire che era IMPOSSIBILE.
Impossibile diventare attrice.
Impossibile farlo senza conoscenze.
Impossibile produrre uno spettacolo da sola.
Impossibile arrivare ai Festival.
Impossibile performare un monologo in inglese.

Eppure, un passo dopo l’altro, È SUCCESSO.

Nel 2017 nasceva un sogno chiamato FREE
WOMEN SUITE. Con @andreabalzola abbiamo immaginato una serie teatrale ispirata ai tarocchi, un progetto dedicato alle donne che col loro coraggio hanno cambiato la storia.

Da quel sogno è nata La Papessa. Regia @carmendimarzo

Poi è arrivata L’Imperatrice. Regia mia e di Andrea Balzola

Oggi questo viaggio mi ha portata a debuttare con il mio primo spettacolo internazionale:
THE HIGH PRIESTESS. Regia mia e di Andrea Balzola.

Non è semplice traduzione de La Papessa. È un nuovo spettacolo costruito partendo dallo stesso testo, ma pensato per viaggiare leggero e incontrare un pubblico internazionale.

E a Praga al suo debutto è successo qualcosa che non avrei mai osato immaginare…

🏆The High Priestess ha ricevuto l’🌟Inspiration Award🌟 alla 25esima edizione del @praguefringe 2026!!

Se ci penso faccio fatica a crederci! 🥹 Non perché pensi di aver raggiunto chissà quale traguardo definitivo. Ma perché questo premio mi ricorda una cosa importante:

l’impossibile non è una condizione.
È spesso solo qualcosa che richiede più tempo, più coraggio e più ostinazione.

Ci saranno porte chiuse.
Momenti in cui penserai di non essere abbastanza.
Persone che ti diranno che non si può fare, che non vai bene.

E tu invece continua.
Studia.
Sbaglia.
Ricomincia.
Chiedi aiuto.
Lavora.
Credici anche quando sembra assurdo.

Perché i sogni non si realizzano da soli.
Si costruiscono.

Se questa storia potrà dare anche solo un po’ di coraggio a un altro artista, donna o persona che oggi ha paura di fare il suo primo passo… allora questo viaggio avrà un significato ancora più grande.

E io continuerò a fare quello che amo fare di più:
trasformare ciò che sembra impossibile… in qualcosa di profondamente umano.

Grazie a chi ha creduto in me, a chi non lo ha fatto, a chi ha cambiato idea, a chi sarà al mio fianco…

We’re delighted to share that Fake has won two awards at the 25th anniversary edition of @praguefringe:

Awarded to productions deemed creatively exceptional

Awarded to outstanding new work

Created and performed by @chriscookmagic, and co-written, directed and produced by Rhys Williamson (@a_very_difficult_person), FAKE tells a true story of deception, fraud and belief through a unique blend of storytelling, comedy and magic.

We’re honoured to have been recognised alongside such brilliant artists and grateful to everyone who came to see the show during our sold out Prague Fringe run.

Thank you to the entire @praguefringe team for an unforgettable festival, and congratulations to all of this year’s award winners.

✨ New ideas, fresh voices, and fearless storytelling lie at the heart of every Fringe.

The Prague Fringe 2026 Inspiration Award celebrates outstanding new work that has had no more than two previous runs, recognising originality, creativity, and bold new ideas.

This year’s winners, whose productions inspired audiences and judges alike with their originality and ambition, are The High Priestess – Johanna, Kaddish, and Fake.
