Debut album from Fayetteville, Arkansas’s BURNED UP BLED DRY. 26 songs in 25 minutes, mixing crushing down tuned Mid-South heaviness and intense power violence blasting with the clarity, hooks and direct edge of 80’s hardcore punk .
Devastating music with bleak, to the point lyrics, these are all new songs written and recorded last year after the band found themselves all living back in Arkansas a few years ago and resumed playing live, combined with a few unreleased songs from the 1990’s. This planet is a fucking trainwreck......Next stop... Dead Stop...

BURNED UP BLED DRY formed in 1996, touring constantly and releasing two 7” EPS, one on the legendary SLAP-A-HAM label, before going dormant for almost two decades. NEXT STOP.. GNP “1985 Demo” LP now up for pre-order,link in bio.

GROSSEST NATIONAL PRODUCT ( GNP) formed in 1982 in Birmingham, Alabama and were one of the state’s first hardcore punk bands, playing garage-y thrash with lyrics inspired by the comedic acidity of the RAMONES or DEAD KENNEDYS. Classic 1980’s teenage thrash, the band was a constant, encouraging presence in the Birmingham punk scene for nearly three decades, opening shows for the MEAT PUPPETS, GBH, LIFE SENTENCE, MAGGOT SANDWICH, THE ACCUSED, and many more.

A wild cast of hilarious characters, the band rarely left the city limits, even less often the state and left few recordings, but tracked a classic demo tape in 1985 featuring some of their best songs “Reggie’s a Veggie”, “Ready To Ralph”, “Rabid Lassie”. The demo is presented in its entirety, pre-mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air studios with vinyl mastering by Anne-Marie Suenram. The album comes packaged in a 24 point board tip on Sleeve with a full color inner sleeve with photos and flyers from the bands first three years, and includes an additional Lyric sheet insert with extensive liner notes and band history from Guitarist Chris Hendrix. 300 Green vinyl and 300 Purple vinyl pressed at RTI. by @prankrec

Mailed the final Domestic Totalitär orders from the pre-orders today #. I didn’t photo all the mail runs but want to thank everyone for their patience and orders. Because of the delay with the jackets, this became a bigger job than we could really handle, and was hard to do right after and still during some of septic death. I’m so happy the response to this album was so crazy and it’s been such a bright spot in dark times.

Prank has had an amazing year - Burned Up Bled Dry, GNP, Septic Death project with Pusmort, Totalitar and has a couple more great records on the way from Skamfläck, Totalna Tama and Smash Your Face. iron Lung and Grimple represses on the way and just sent in/humanity to be scanned. Thanks folks and a huge thanks to @denihilrecords who made the European version and did a lot of the heavy lifting.

We still have clear vinyl for mailorder and will have a handful of the sunglass & silver strays next week. White vinyl restocks just shipped to emissions and sorry state. Ebullition is almost sold out of grey vinyl and will also have clear, revolver has the last of the black vinyl. thanks folks.

While driving to Southern California last week, listened to the PESD LP (and post Regiment, and Tragiedia) several times, and was stunned to realize this album turns twenty years old this year.
While it’s truly a Trujaca Fala release I just glommed onto when the vinyl version was delayed. (I discovered it for reviewing the CD for MRR.) it was the first Polish hardcore record to come out in the US since MRR released “DEZERTER - underground out of Poland” in 1987.
This is pretty far from a straight hardcore album, Smok (who’s name I was stunned translates to “Dragon”) from post regiment played all the music and it’s this super textured, richly layered post punk mixed with brutal hardcore over a drum machine. It’s not techno, nor even really a post Ministry evolution, it’s in a way an extension of Tragiedia and the Tragedia Wg Post Regiment” album, mixed with post regiment but framed by both the moody , ebbing and flowing intensity of the Music and it’s crazily thought through recording.
Amoniak (whose name, amazingly translated to “Ammonia”) from Tragiedia does the vocals, and his guttural, beefy, very human voice contrasted with mechanical nature of some of the songs. It’s amazingly, entirely in Polish except for the track “Body Bags” which reflected the time of George W Bush unilateral US war edicts and wars of volition , so the only English on the album is Amoniak forcefully shouting “Rows and columns of Body Bags” over and over. This is an incredibly intense album.
PESD never played any shows. never followed up this record, which I consider a masterpiece. IF I had to rank records I had anything to do with I couldn’t, but pretty much decided this record will forever be #3 of the best I’ve ever released, nothing else will ever be ranked, but this is #3.

THis record didn’t sell well in the US, the album title near impossible to pronounce, and you often see it criminally cheap used here, many copies were warped by a decade and a half or so of storage at distributors. But I can’t emphasize enough how great, how advanced the thought and playing in it is, it’s one of the best foreign punk albums released this century #polishpunk #pesd #trujacafala by @prankrec

Iron Lung played earlier this week with Poison Ruin and Ceremony at The Sinclair. They’ve been in New England this week playing a round of shows all over.  It’s been a long while since I last saw them live and oddly I never shot them before. They are always intense live like a tornado sweeping through the room.
