There's a strange sense of déjà vu.

We've been here before.

Six years ago, during CAA-NRC, the whole country was on the streets. We saw what this government was capable of. We saw peaceful protesters treated like criminals.

I've been speaking against this government since 2014. I've been told I'm too political to be a designer. That I should tone it down. I haven't, and I won't. Politics decides who gets protected, who gets targeted, and who gets beaten into silence.

Today my feed is full of people finally seeing it. Part of me thinks: we've been trying to tell you for years. But these students were children in 2019. They're not who I'm frustrated with. I'm glad they're seeing it now.

I'm just scared. Scared the outrage fades. That we go back to our lives while these students carry the burden alone.

I hope this generation refuses to forget. I hope they keep standing.

Because we've been here before. And we cannot leave them standing alone again. by @prateeq

I met Kirin for the first time in October 2018 — it was @apologetically.devang a birthday party.
Found out she was a food stylist. How cool is that. Then I saw her work — so good.
Also into music, with impeccable taste. Board games, snacks, her own chilli salt — always prepared.
I genuinely thought she was too cool and, tbh, assumed she wouldn’t hang out with me.
But then we started playing board games. And we’d always ask Kirin to bring her +1.
The +1 never came. We hadn’t even seen him. At some point, we genuinely wondered if this +1 was real.
A few months later, @visheshsambyal finally visited. And with him came this Vishesh energy we didn’t even know we were missing.
In 2021, we became flatmates. And both of them opened up whole new worlds for me — the most incredible friends, the warmest families.
Shout-out to all the beautiful people around them (can’t tag everyone because, well… too many people love them).
The last few days were wedding celebrations (photos coming soon).

The legacy of the Indian National Congress (INC), India’s oldest political party (estd.1885) can be traced thru images of its nearly 140-year-old journey. We were recently called upon to bring this remarkable history to the attention of its party cadres by animating 5 floors of the new party headquarters. Our colleagues who had archived the collections several years back, took on the project alongside researchers, photography historian, architect, and graphic designer over a 16-month period to bring an in-situ permanent exhibition to life.

A fully illustrated timeline of the congress party from 1885 to 2023 is spread chronologically across 4 floors of the building, highlighting the party’s role in India’s freedom struggle and a fledging nations journey. Individuals, significant moments of our democracy, sessions of the congress party, lives of its chief ministers, party presidents and the nation’s prime ministers punctuate the walls, each image an example of dedication to the nation. The object and articles from the party constitution, its 5 key values, evolution of its party symbol, newspaper headlines from the day India won Independence, photographs, all punctuate corridors, hallways, lift lobbies, meeting areas, canteen, offices and cabins for everyday introspection and inspiration.

Illustrated and inspirational quotes, unique stories of individual seva dal members, legacy of several dedicated party workers in the many offices they held, all bring to life a unique history that warrants recall. Nandlal Bose and his timeless Haripura posters (1937/38) are reproduced and remind us how some of India’s early modernists created art specifically for the party during India’s freedom struggle highlighting the role of a village economy. A storied legacy finds a befitting home.
