We are delighted to announce that Nicholas O’Brien will be joining our team as an Assistant Professor of Game Arts in the Fall of 2026! Nicholas has leant his talents and attention to the program as both a Adjunct Professor and Full Time Visiting Professor, teaching a range of subjects in the Game Arts program and supporting external student events like MAGFest and PAX East.

Beyond his dedication to teaching, Nicholas brings a vibrant and widely lauded creative practice to the program. As Essay Games, his project Bundle of Joy has been celebrated in The Guardian, The Verge, and Vulture, and his expertise in technical narrative design and open-source game development — including a recent workshop at GodotCon at MIT — recognizes his important contributions to the field. JUNIOR / SOPHOMORE SHOWCASE - Thursday May 14th - 5:30 to 7:30 pm - 3rd Floor Arcade

Come set up your laptops and show off this semester’s hard work! You don’t need to stay the whole time if you have other classes or commitments - just come through as you can for this end of semester playtest and celebration. Seniors showing non-capstone games, students from other majors and clubs, etc also welcomed. by @prattgamearts

Game Arts Senior Reviews are May 13th, from 3:30 - 6:30 in the Game Arts Arcade!

Join us on May 13th for presentations from graduating seniors about their capstone projects, development process, and next steps, as well as review-panel feedback from game arts faculty.

Next week we’ll be hosting an artist talk from AP Thomson, the IGF award winning developer of Titanium Court!

AP will be joining us in the senior’s professional practices class, but all levels of study are welcome for this craft-oriented talk. 3:30 - 4:50 pm on Tuesday May 5th in the Digital Plaza. by @prattgamearts
