For 45 years, Spencer Leak Jr, has served Chicago and beyond in times of sorrow and joy. He will be remembered for his professional care, dedication, and tireless commitment. At this time, we are praying for his family, the @leakandsonsfuneralhome staff, and those who knew him best.

In the words of (@real_sharpton) Reverend Al Sharpton, “A giant has gone home.” Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., was an American Hero, an International Treasure, a Civil Rights General, a Voice in the pulpit, and a Drum Major for Justice and Equality of all people.

We are praying for Mrs. Jackson, his children, his entire family and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition @rainbowpush!

While there may be weeping, mourning, and even wondering in the world today; we will yet live out the words of Reverend Jackson, to “keep hope alive”.

For morning will come, and the sun will shine; with healing in its wings and joy on the horizon.

Four years together, five birthdays celebrated, and I’m still not tired of going all out to wish you a great one! You deserve it and then some! You’ve given me a great life and five amazing children. Of which I’m just grateful to God they have the best of you in every way!

The name says it all. She was indeed a doll. A general for love and equality, a visionary of fine arts, and the Queen of Country Music— breaking not only the charts, but also breaking down barriers.

Dolly paved a way for generations to pattern after. She blazed a trail that no one can ever deny. Her light was one that will shine bright for ages.

This is heartbreaking, but as you did, we will trust God who knows all.

Take your rest, Ms. #DollyParton.

These are the memories I will cherish forever of Mother Shirley Oliver, the woman of God. Always laughing, praising, and smiling, even on her most difficult days. How fitting that some of the moments I was privileged to capture of her in church were filled with that joy. I even remember Bishop’s installation. I was snapping away with my camera when I said, “Give me a smile, Mother.” She smiled so big, then looked at me and asked, “Was that a good picture?” 😂

I’ll also miss being her “tech help.” Whenever she couldn’t figure something out on her phone, she would call me or wait until she saw me at church, and we’d sit down and work it out. I’ll never forget January 28, 2024, when she asked me to spruce up her Linktree and create a QR code. Lord, nobody told me Mother Oliver expressed gratitude with a strong, sweet hug and a quick praise break! 😂😂😂

And a few months later when I told her my wife and I wanted Jordan to attend her daycare, By Faith Home Daycare, Mother started shouting, “Thank you, Jesus!” She jumped up and down, spoke in tongues, grabbed my hands, and started dancing. Every time I picked Jordan up from daycare, Mother was either singing to him, reading to him, or Kenielle was holding and rocking him. We never had to worry about him there. He was loved, and we felt it. Explaining her passing to him has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do as a parent. He may not have fully understood everything I was explaining, but my dear son certainly felt it—and expressed it.

I have to stop writing because the more I write, the more real it becomes.

In our seasons of sorrow, Mother Oliver was there. In our seasons of joy, she was there. And now, we will be there for her family.

We love you, Mother Oliver. ❤️
