The last few months have been a difficult adjustment since losing Preacher, starting our nonprofit Preachforpups, and navigating our new normal. Because of him, we were driven to make a difference for other pups in need and until recently we had no idea what that truly entailed.

One day we got a call asking if we could help a puppy found wandering around outside on one of the coldest days of the year. Without question we took her in, knowing she didn’t have anywhere else to go.

We spent the last few weeks sharing posts, contacting local shelters, and reaching out around the area she was found with no luck of anyone searching for her. She wasn’t microchipped and had no identification, and no one came forward with proof of ownership.

During that time she made herself comfortable and before we even realized it, she had already found her home.

What started as a temporary act of support turned into something permanent and full of love. She wasn’t something we were looking for — she found us exactly when she was meant to. Sometimes the best things in life come when you are least expecting them.

Welcome home, baby Sugar bear 🤍🐾

A little over a year ago, on October 3, 2025, we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our baby boy, Preacher.

Preacher was one of a kind and an irreplaceable part of our little family. In the midst of our grief, we started a nonprofit, @preachforpups, to honor his legacy by advocating for pitbulls and supporting shelters through donations.

Two months after losing Preacher, we received a call about a baby pittie puppy who had been found wandering outside, all alone, on one of the coldest days of the year.

Preach for Pups isn’t a rescue, but we just couldn’t turn our backs on her. We named her Sugar because she was instantly so affectionate and sweet. To this day, we can’t understand how anyone could have abandoned her.

We honestly weren’t ready to welcome another dog so soon after losing Preacher. Our hearts were still broken, and we knew no dog could ever replace him. But something about this felt different. She came into our lives needing help, and somehow we were the ones who needed her too.

And then we noticed that she had a little white marking on the back of her neck just like Preacher had 🤍

Maybe it’s a coincidence, but we like to think that in some little way Preacher had a paw in sending Sugar our way.

Now we are reminded daily that love doesn’t end when we lose someone. It stays with us in the most unexpected ways.

One year without Preacher feels so much longer but we are lucky he left a little reminder behind 🐾🤍

and they all LOVED it🥹🥰

Thank you @rahrdog for donating these to us so we can give back 💕

These are the most durable balls we have found yet, so they are safe to be in the kennels with the dogs to keep them entertained! They are designed for bully breeds in mind, so they are virtually indestructible - and these pups put them to the test. They are super bouncy and the dogs love to play fetch with them, chew on them or just roll them around.

If you are looking for ways to help give back, you can get your pup a @rahrdog ball (get 10% off with code SUGAR) and one will be donated to a shelter pup with every purchase!!

@littlemiss_sugar loved hers so much, we had to get some to the shelter pups and it was so worth it!

Thank you all for helping to share our videos and get these pups seen outside the shelter, and in the meantime we are still able to give back in ways like this until they find their forever homes 🥰
