A thing happened today. Glad I can share! ✊🏾✊🏾Today, SC Humanities is proud to announce the recipients of the 35th Annual South Carolina Awards in the Humanities, including the Governor’s Awards in the Humanities, Akers Prize, and McMeekin Award. 🎉
These extraordinary individuals and organizations exemplify the power of the humanities. Bakari is an attorney, political commentator and former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. We’re going to talk South Carolina politics, the state of the country, race, culture, media and what this political moment means for us moving forward. More details coming soon but get tickets because it will sell out! We will also have the work from artist @hmichele_art with an exhibit reimagining the Civil Rights Movement.
