Still rolling pretty strong with the photography thing. Practice practice practice. A couple of these were taken by my son, and all of these I’m pretty proud of. It’s been a fun journey and I’m enjoying learning more and more about the processes of taking “good” photos, and some light editing on my iPad.

Decided to get up at the ass crack of dawn the other day and head out to #crescentbendnaturepark and play with the #omsystemsom1 and test out my bird photography skills. Think I didn’t do half bad

Got out to @landaparknbtx early this morning for some peaceful walking and photography shortly after sunrise, and I can’t tell you just how much I enjoyed the quiet morning sunshine. I can’t remember the last time I was able to get out and just enjoy being outside. Stretching my artistic skills, searching for good compositions, and enjoying learning a new hobby made for a special day, and I will definitely be doing more of that.

Took mom down to Rockport yesterday for a little photography adventure day trip to say thank you for all her help over the last few weeks since going into the hospital. Had a great day finding some birds to capture, and polished it off with a spectacular dinner at Paradise Key restaurant there on the bay.

For those who aren’t aware, I spent 3 weeks in the hospital back at the end of July with complications from a procedure they did. After almost a week in the ICU, I’ve been in recovery since. I’m getting stronger day by day, and will likely be getting my next round of chemo sometime this month. I’m chugging along and determined to be completely back on my feet as soon as possible. Thanks for all the prayers.

This here’s my bottom bitch. My 11 year old black lab, Frankie! These are unedited, just playing around with some different settings on the camera.

This is about 2 weeks before and the day after the #centraltexas floods on the Guadalupe River. This flooding is incredibly devastating and my heart goes out to all who have been affected by it.

Had to meet my sister to pass my dogs off on her while I spent a week in the hospital recently. After the handoff, I went around Mason, Texas and got some half decent shots.

So this is me (fat, old dude on the right, obviously). I haven’t posted anything on this account in over 6 months for good reason: Back in February of this year, 2025, I ended up in the hospital and had surgery to remove a cancerous mass from my small intestines. We found out it was myeloid sarcoma, and I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy cycles since April 21st.

So far the news has been positive: I’m in remission while waiting for a stem cell donor, and have about 3 weeks between each week long stint in the hospital for upkeep. Since I’m unable to work due to the absolute hell the chemotherapy wreaks on my immune system, energy levels, and stamina, I decided to try my hand at some photography stuff so I can get out of the house, get some fresh air, and it’s not too taxing on my body.

Following this post, I’m going to start posting some of the photos I take. Some will be edited, some not, but this is the small bit of my life I’m willing to share outside of work.

I should also mention this is me pre chemo. I’m saving your eyes by not showing my hairless head and face, trust me. I feel like I look like Brendan Fraser in The Whale.
