Independence starts with design, here's how this playroom does it

Tucked away in this playroom, behind the murphy bed, is a little desk that most guests would never notice at first glance. It opens with a single, simple motion - no tools, no complicated mechanism, just a fold-out surface that transforms a hidden corner into a functional workspace. The murphy bed itself does double duty, saving space while concealing a feature that adds real everyday value to the room.

This space was designed with one core idea in mind: raising kids to be independent and organized from an early age. Every element, from the desk to the storage, was placed with a child's height and reach in mind, rather than designed purely for visual appeal. It's a reminder that good design for children isn't just about how a room looks, but about how it teaches and supports daily habits.

That intention carries through to the baskets placed at the kids' level, allowing them to put away their own toys and retrieve them independently, without needing help from an adult. The materials are soft to the touch, making the space safe and comfortable for little hands to explore. Together, the fold-out desk and accessible storage make this playroom a thoughtful example of design that grows with a child's independence, not just their age.

Who says you need a massive room for a full vanity? We’ve concealed this entire dresser within the wardrobe to save space without sacrificing style. A full-length mirror, organized shelves, and a sleek finish, all tucked away! Would you try this in your bedroom?

Guest room design with a denim blue ceiling | Mumbai home

A guest room should be super comfortable, but it’s also the one room where you can be a little experimental.

So we kept the walls and furniture in a calm ivory and coffee palette, and had fun with the ceiling instead. A soothing denim blue with a subtle texture, carried into the smaller details like the headboard straps and accessories.

The walk-in wardrobe is finished in mirror, so it never feels bulky, and everyone gets the full-length mirror they need. The mirror continues into the nook next to it, with a slim storage unit tucked in behind shutters.

Would you try a coloured ceiling at home? Tell us in the comments.

What looks like art is actually hiding an entire world of functionality. The goal was to maximise utility without compromising on aesthetics.

Inspired by the east-facing window and its beautiful morning light, the artwork brings the warmth of a sunrise indoors. Behind this artistic façade, generous storage keeps things functional and uncluttered, while the basin is designed to feel like a natural extension of the dining area.

Because good design isn't about hiding functionality , it's about making it beautiful.

The idea was to create a clear visual separation between spaces without making the interiors feel boxed in.
With the wooden framework, glass panels, and carefully considered material choices, the partition becomes more than just a divider, it becomes an integral part of the design.

The natural wood finish brings warmth and character to the space, while the glass keeps the interiors visually connected. This combination allows the different areas to feel distinct yet continuous, maintaining an open and airy atmosphere.

The amber glass console adds another layer of interest, introducing a subtle contrast against the wood and neutral surroundings. Paired with soft lighting and minimal furniture, it creates a balance between bold material choices and understated elegance.

The result is a space where materials do the work of defining the interiors, creating structure, warmth, and visual depth without overwhelming the room.

The Design Fix: Ep 5
Turning Travel Memories into a Home Full of Character

We talk about how we transformed a couple's love for travel into a home that feels uniquely theirs. Instead of a Pinterest-perfect aesthetic, we focused on creating a space where their souvenirs and memories could shine, giving each travel treasure a special place to belong. The result is a home full of character and personal stories.

For a family that loves food, the dining area had to do more than look good. Positioned right next to the kitchen, it was designed to make everyday meals effortless and hosting a crowd feel just as easy.

The nude-toned dining set keeps the look warm and understated, while the lazy Susan makes sharing dishes seamless. Because when everyone’s reaching for their favourite dish, a little thought in the design goes a long way.

Swivel chairs add flexibility, while the bench seating makes room for more people around the table. Whether it’s an everyday family meal or a house full of friends, the layout adapts without compromising on comfort or style.

The result? A dining space that looks refined but is built for real life, where one meal can turn into hours of conversation.

A statement basin that brings art into everyday living

Who says a washbasin has to blend into the background? We turned this living room sink into a design feature with a vibrant sunrise mural that brings colour, character, and a touch of the outdoors inside.

The sculptural basin, warm wooden accents, and brass fixtures balance the artwork beautifully, creating a corner that feels both functional and visually striking.

The result? An everyday utility transformed into an unexpected design moment.

The Design Fix Ep. 4 We transformed a tight kitchen into a collaborative baking space for a mother and daughter.

We believe home design should revolve around family rituals, not just floor plans.

By adding a spacious parallel island, we transformed a cramped kitchen into a functional baking studio where this mother-daughter duo can comfortably share their weekly traditions.

How to get perfect lighting without making your room feel small.

We wanted to add nice ceiling lights, but we didn’t want to lose any room height or deal with a bulky, ugly beam.

Our solution was to build a beautiful row of matching wooden panels that completely hides the beam and holds the lights inside.

It looks like a stylish design feature while keeping the whole room feeling bright, tall, and open!

The art of hidden storage and built-in luxury.

The result is a kitchen that feels refined without being precious practical enough for everyday use, but considered enough to become an integral part of the home’s design.
