Before you bring your newborn home, prepare these 5 things.

1. Have your paediatrician’s number.
You don’t want to be searching for a doctor at 2am because you are worried about something. Have someone you trust that you can call when you’re unsure.

2. Have a support system.
If possible, have someone who can actually stay over after delivery someone who can help with the baby, prepare food, or simply give you time to rest.

3. Have a conversation with your partner.
Talk about responsibilities before the baby arrives. Who helps with the baby? Who handles meals? Who gets up at night?

4. Prepare for your postpartum days.
Think about what you will need for yourself, the baby and the house. Having the basics ready can make those first few weeks easier.

5. Prepare mentally.
The first few weeks may not look like the pictures online. You may be tired, emotional, overwhelmed or unsure of yourself.

And that’s okay.

You don’t have to know everything. You just need the right information, support and someone to ask when you’re unsure.

That’s why we created the Newborn Mum Class to help you feel more informed, prepared and confident as you step into motherhood.
