BACK TO THE DARK

It comes again
Round in a circle
Follows brightness
And precedes its return
It shifts mood and mind
Some parts hibernate
While others yet come to play

Back to the dark
The internal cave
Back to the dark
The depths call out
Back to the dark
What lurks down there
Back to the dark
To bring forth to the light by @preparetoperform

Quiet Shrieking

A bright moon asks a riddle
Around a fire bright
A lonely man weeps a fiddle
Told things would be alright

Weakened will draws bow
Eerily grinding strings
Horse hair screams so slow
Revealing hidden things

Instrument giving voice
To pain mouth shall not udder
Trembling grief makes a noise
To which even corpses shutter by @preparetoperform

What time is taken each day,
if any

to make sense of thought, feeling, and action
?

To not be ruled by mysterious and familiar
momentum

is to find peace in waking participation

Love now is

Smiling when I see your mascara smudges on my bath towel

Pulling the blanket over you as mornings grow colder

Going for walks and sharing thoughts only for each other

Hugging idiosyncrasies with grace

Speaking softly of and to each other

Having dinner ready after work without being asked - sometimes

Giving up my favorite sweatshirt

Collecting wild berries and mushrooms

Giving space when you need to expand

Taking up space when the world shrinks you

Love now is actions on actions

LIVE

I want to live so generously
that when I die
droves of people assemble
to comfort and support my family. by @preparetoperform

Galactic Blink

This can all be gone
Ours is not a world of tomorrow’s guarantee

Historical flicker
Galactic blink

This will all be gone
Whether swallowed by tree or vine
Or space and time

It’s been gone before
It’ll be gone again

This is all gone
Not right now but in future’s time

Tapping

Ideas unexplored, unexpressed
make the sound
of a neighbor’s fingers
tapping on your front window

when you’re avoiding
answering the door

but
they can clearly
see you. by @preparetoperform

Don’t Sing

Don’t sing
Say the voices in my head

Don’t sing
Say the voices all around me

Don’t sing
Say the pressures of other people

Don’t sing
Say my insecurities

Don’t sing
Say the judgements I make up

Don’t sing
