Congrats to @danajackson.volleyball who was the setter on our 17s team last season! As a freshman I put her into the challenging roll as a 5-1 setter on a 17s team- this is a huge ask for a freshman! She stepped up and crushed it! 🔥
🏐A setter isn’t just having “nice hands” - it’s athleticism, quick thinking, the ability to be a leader and know which plays to run and which people to set in key moments.
🏐Dana was noted a few times by Prep Dig over the season and named a Top Performer. She was also 1 of 2 of our players named on the 2026 AVCA Phenom Watch List.
🏐As a sophomore (& mind you in WI you can’t play varsity until you’re actually in HS unlike other states) she has already reached 1,000 assists! She has some amazing passers and hitters that surround her, leading her HS team to be #1 seed in Division, & Conference Champs and headed in to playoffs.

“Dana, you’re amazing!” 🤩

Minnesota’s Class of 2028 is loaded with talented setters who are putting up impressive numbers and making a major impact on their varsity teams this season. Many of these juniors have been running their offenses since their freshman year (and maybe even longer), and that experience is showing in their ability to control the tempo, distribute the ball, and lead their teams. From racking up hundreds of assists to contributing as attackers, servers, and defenders, these setters bring much more to the court than just setting the ball. As postseason play approaches, we’re taking a closer look at some of the state’s top-producing junior setters who have been delivering big numbers and leading the way for their teams.

From powerful attackers and versatile middles to setters running the offense with confidence, these young athletes are putting together some impressive performances. Many have already become key contributors to their teams, racking up impressive stats, reaching milestones, and making their presence felt on both sides of the ball. With 15 teams competing at yesterday’s Logan Tournament, there was plenty of talent on display from both sides of the Mississippi River. The tournament brought together schools from Minnesota and Wisconsin, with mostly smaller school programs represented. Throughout the day, several players caught our attention with their athleticism, versatility, and ability to make an impact on the court. From powerful attackers to all around players who contribute in every rotation, these are a few of the standouts who made an impression on us throughout the tournament.

Defense doesn’t always get the spotlight, but these backrow standouts are putting up numbers that are impossible to overlook. From piling up digs to handling hundreds of serve receive opportunities, some of Minnesota’s top defenders have been the steady presence their teams can count on point after point. Whether they are experienced seniors closing out their high school careers or underclassmen already making their mark, these players have worked their way toward the top of Minnesota’s defensive leaderboards.

Reaching 500 career kills, digs, or assists is no small accomplishment. It takes consistency, longevity, and the ability to make an impact every time you step on the court. Across Minnesota, several players have already hit that mark this season, with some reaching the milestone early enough in their careers that there is plenty more to come. From attackers putting balls away, to setters running the offense, to defenders keeping rallies alive, these players have officially joined the 500 Club.

As the high school season keeps rolling along, some of Minnesota’s top attackers are putting up big numbers and making themselves difficult to slow down....but it isn’t just the kill totals that stand out. These players are finding ways to score in system and out of system, from different spots along the net, out of the back row, and with everything from big swings to well placed shots. Whether they are carrying a heavy offensive load or giving their teams multiple scoring options, these attackers have been producing at a high level and making their presence felt every time they step on the court.
