Falls Church, you made last weekend one to remember. Truly. Thank you. 🧡

So we decided to sneak in one extra day.

Preservation Biscuit will be open Monday! One bonus day, one more chance to come by, and plenty of biscuits to go around.

See you Monday. 🥹 by @preservationbiscuitco

Wow. We’ve REALLY been feeling the biscuit love. 🥹🧡

This has been one of our busiest weeks since 2021. Seriously. Thank you so much for showing up for us.

You all came out in such force that we actually ran out of buttermilk AND flour. 😂

And a huge thank you to the wonderful folks who came to our rescue and helped us restock so we could keep the biscuits coming.

We’re feeling very, very loved. 🧡 by @preservationbiscuitco

For those of us in the Falls Church City restaurant community, this week has been an incredibly sad one, as we’ve learned of Tricia Barba’s painful decision to close Preservation Biscuit Company, and Thomas Harvey’s equally hard decision to sell Harveys.Va. It always hurts when we see friends lose what they worked so hard to build, and it feels especially raw for people like Thomas and Tricia. Restaurants, and the people who breathe life into them and keep them running, do not exist in a vacuum. There are too many things that can – and do – go wrong. So, in this business, it’s imperative to have someone have your back, and Thomas and Tricia were both stellar at that. They – along with David Tax of Clare and Don’s Beach Shack and the 4Ps – worked tirelessly to create a special community in what has become a crowded and competitive restaurant scene in Falls Church. The Sip & Stroll, a stunning success for the residents of Falls Church and the business community, is just one example of our efforts. It’s these kinds of events that make communities thrive, but let’s be clear: They don’t just happen. They take the work and muscle of business leaders who are committed to making a place feel like a worthy destination, and we’ve just lost two of our biggest fighters. The loss of their businesses is a loss for all of us in the City, and it’s a warning shot: If we don’t support our locally owned and operated businesses, we cannot survive. Tricia and Thomas, thank you, good luck to you, and please bring your smiling faces back to see us often. ☘️ by @preservationbiscuitco

Well, this is a hard one to write.

I can’t really think of anything profound to say, so here goes.

After 5 1/2 years, Preservation Biscuit Company will be closing its doors at the end of September.

When we opened, we had no idea what the next five and a half years would look like. We just wanted to make really good biscuits and build something special in Falls Church. Somehow, we got to do exactly that.

There are so many people who have been part of Preservation along the way — our staff, our regulars, our neighbors, the people who brought their families in on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and everyone who told someone, “You have to try this biscuit place.”

Thank you. Really.

We’ll be here through Sunday, September 27, making biscuits and probably getting a little emotional about all of it.

Come see us before we go. ❤️
