POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The National Press Club condemns the Treasury Department's decision to bar journalists from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg News from covering the G20 finance ministers meeting in North Carolina.

We call on the Treasury Department to immediately reverse these decisions, credential the affected journalists and explain publicly how and why they were excluded. taken in National Press Club by @pressclubdc

Most people think press freedom is about journalists.

Mark Schoeff Jr. says it's about something much bigger.

👀 In this clip, the National Press Club president explains why this issue affects far more than the people reporting the news.

Watch the reel and let us know:

💬 What role do you think independent journalism plays in your community?

Earlier this week, we welcomed @tbettag, @bobwoodruff, and @zirinskysusan to the Club to talk about their experiences during the events shown in the recently released documentary, "Tiananmen Tonight."

In 1989, a student movement brought China to the brink of democratic reform. "Tiananmen Tonight" tells the story of Dan Rather and the CBS Evening News team battling for life and reputation while reporting on the uprising. by @pressclubdc

@aflcio President @lizshuler spoke at a Headliners event this week to discuss AI’s impact on the American workforce and the AFL-CIO’s ongoing work.

In February, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released data showing union representation grew by 463,000 in 2025. The AFL-CIO has interpreted this as U.S. workers looking to the labor movement for solutions as AI threatens their jobs.

Thank you for coming to the Club to speak with us - we hope to have you back soon for another important and timely conversation! taken in National Press Club by @pressclubdc

Last night, we had the chance to host Former Senator @joemanchin, who joined NPC President @markschoeff, to discuss his new memoir, "Dead Center: In Defense of Common Sense."

This timely memoir gives a behind-the-scenes look at how the government does – and does not – work with stories from inside the White House and Senate while also offering his solution for moving from polarized political gridlock to good governance.

We look forward to welcoming back Former Senator Manchin soon!

A classic D.C. holiday wedding on the 7th night of Hanukkah and 5 days before Christmas. This artful, eclectic, educated, professional couple (wonderful traits my clients have in common) got ready at the J.W. Marriott, gathered with their friends at the Library of Congress for portraits, and then met their families at the National Press Club for their ketubah signing, ceremony, and reception. Their winter wedding design had a classic east coast aesthetic filled with magnolia and chinoiserie. Though Sam & Natalie were already adored by everyone in the room, they stole hearts during their first dance when they recreated the Pulp Fiction Jack Rabbit Slim’s dance-off to Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell.”
