A lot of people ask if their skin type affects whether they qualify for a study, and the answer is: yes.

Some studies are designed for dry or sensitive skin, while others look for oily, acne-prone, or combination skin.

We also reference the Fitzpatrick scale (Types I–VI), which ranges from very fair skin that burns easily to deeply pigmented skin that never burns, to ensure diverse skin tone representation.
