How to explain the silence?

I am usually the one interrogating the canvas. Recently, roles have reversed.

Start. Stop. Change. Cover. Do something else. The cycle continues.

This year I’ve had some health battles and, as life stopped, so did my art.

My creativity had become a task. I think that’s something that creeps in for all of us when art becomes a ‘job’. And The analytical mind takes control.

This one didn’t ‘work’ how my mind planned it, but I’m sharing it anyway.

Maybe that’s the point.

You don’t perfect your craft. You eliminate your habits.

Great evening live painting with @creed.gallery for the launch of @highveldascot .

This piece has been on hold for the event, so it feels good to finally lay some paint down on canvas and paper.
