Although the post is late.. luckily I finished this scratch built cat cp563c up right before the imcats show! This thing has been on the bench since april, and is fully scratch built besides the drum and wheels. Nzg came out with a few different versions of the 563, but i figured if I built my own I could add more detail - Such as the working blade, bolt heads, lights, and of voice filler caps & door latches! by @prestonscustomdiecast

Another project off the bench! I’ve always had more lowboys then semis, so i’m slowly closing the gap. I picked this mack up at the ed’s diecast open house about a month ago. Then, stretched the frame, added a 36” sleeper i heavily modified, a functional drop axle along with scratch built fenders, toolbox and headache rack. The sleeper was a big challenge trying to figure out all the proper curves, but i’m happy with how it turned out! Also added white NY plates, lights, antennas, decals, and weathered chains for the rack by @prestonscustomdiecast

another project finished in time for the @edsdiecastshed open house! This deere 850 has been on the chopping block to get remastered for awhile. Truly do love remodeling these older deere’s. Now back to scratch building some stuff! In total, remade the roller guards, widened the undercarriage, new cutting edge and vpat blade, single mast top con gps, aswell as the hydro mounts & all the hydraulics. Replaced the old track, sprocket idler combo with new ones off a 6t. Also went ahead with new grab irons, exhaust, and lockout handle by @prestonscustomdiecast

Happy memorial day 💯🇺🇸 by @prestonscustomdiecast

Well, when i said something different last week i meant it. I took a shot in the dark, and made a cat 321clcr for the NYS skillsUSA welding sculpture competition. The sculpture and myself ended up placing 2nd, in the entire state. Pretty happy with that! I have many more pictures, so just let me know weather to post them or not -

Anyway, onto the model itself. This thing has taken me roughly 190 hours of welding, fitting, cutting, and grinding to get it how it sits currently. She’s made out of mild steel, aluminum, and copper. And every single piece has been cut by either a grinder, dremel, or a torch. No cnc has been used whatsoever. I plan on taking this, aswell as the binder full of more pictures to both the ed’s diecast show, and imcats! Feel free to check it out or ask questions! Honestly i am super proud of this thing, and i do plan on continuing with metal working alongside the models. Let me know if i should post it here.. or maybe a new page? 🤔 by @prestonscustomdiecast

this freightliner welding rig i finished up a month or two ago, just haven’t got around to posting. Started out as a cheap, 14 dollar ups box truck i found on ebay. Chopped the frame, and heavily modified a first gear service body into a welding body. And of course built the bumper, vice, fire extinguisher holder, antenna, plates and the IR compressor. This truck also features both static, and “working” leads, to display the truck either all packed up or on a job. Super happy with how this truck turned out. Been pretty busy recently, with something out of the ordinary i’ll get around to posting probably next week sometime. but, finally getting shit done on the bench again and it feels pretty good! by @prestonscustomdiecast

finished up a new dio over the weekend. ended up making my own tree aswell, challenging but happy with how it turned out! by @prestonscustomdiecast

not dead! just been super busy. with that being said, slowly been knocking things off the workbench. this international 624 tractor i picked up at bri a few months ago was missing something. a backhoe! the boom was stolen off a vermeer trencher, with everything else being scratch built. Definitely a super fun project but challenging trying to figure out a good way to have the stabilizers fold up. I also, had to make the operator which fits both driving and operating the backhoe. had to scratch build the arms to fit both the levers and steering wheel. also gave him a goatee 😂 by @prestonscustomdiecast

#imcats2024 show! had a great time seeing everyone, and meeting new faces! had a great turnout this year by @prestonscustomdiecast

well, with #imcats2024 just about 12 hours away, figure i’d show off the project i’ve been rushing to finish in time for the show. I’ve been wanting to build a d7r for awhile now, finally got the chance too! scratch build the entire front section, using the cab from the d8r and the undercarriage from the d6r. Luckily, my man @320dlman shipped me some fire extinguishers just in time before it gets packed up to be displayed by @prestonscustomdiecast

finished up this deere 755d, bought the liebherr as a salvage model on ebay. had to build a ripper cylinder, replace the drive sprockets, and installed some @nikl_scale_models single grouser tracks. thanks my my man frenchie @scalemodels780 for the decals! by @prestonscustomdiecast
