Lately, I’ve been thinking deeply about language.

How did it all begin? How did human beings first come to understand one another? How did sounds become words, words become meaning, and eventually, how did we develop writing?

And the more I think about it, the more I find myself saying, “God, You are truly great.”

We have become so accustomed to the things God created that we hardly notice how extraordinary they are anymore.

We wake up, speak, understand one another, breathe, think, love, see, hear, create, learn—and somehow, because these things happen every day, we have stopped being amazed by them.

We look at nature and call it “normal.” We look at life and call it “normal.” We look at the human mind, consciousness, language, the complexity of our bodies, the order of creation—and simply move on with our day.

But what if we stopped for a moment and actually looked?

Language alone is enough to make me wonder.
A thought exists inside my mind. I turn that thought into sounds. You hear those sounds, interpret them, and somehow the thought that existed in my mind now exists in your understanding.

How did we get here?
And this is only one of the countless things around us that we have become too familiar with to appreciate.
I think sometimes we don’t necessarily stop believing in God.

We simply become so used to His creation that we stop recognizing Him in it.
We have normalized the extraordinary.
And perhaps that’s why Scripture says:

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” — Psalm 19:1
Creation is constantly speaking.

The question is whether we have become too busy to listen.

The more deeply I look at what God has created, the harder it becomes for me to ignore Him.

Because when you truly stop and think about existence itself, “God is great” almost doesn’t feel like enough words.
Maybe we should slow down.
Look again.

And remember the One behind everything we have become so accustomed to.
We are living inside a miracle we have learned to call ordinary. by @pretty_magg
