Last August, I shared Riley's DMI journey. Here's a little update. 🤍

Riley is doing amazing. She is tenacious, courageous & full of grace.

In May, she began serial casting - a treatment that uses a series of casts to gently stretch tight muscles & improve ankle mobility so her heels can reach the ground more naturally.

The difference has been incredible. She stands taller, smiles brighter & beams with pride. Sometimes I think she surprises herself as she discovers what her body can do.

This journey has reminded me that progress isn't always immediate, but every small step matters. Keep your why close - it will carry you through the hard days.

Sharing this in hopes that it encourages someone else. A gentle reminder: you never know what someone is navigating.

Autism Acceptance isn’t limited to one month. 💙

A few years ago, I googled inclusive sports programs, looking for places where Blaise could play, participate & feel included.

Fast forward… Blaise has participated in 3 US Open Clinics with @loveservingautism 🎾🥹 & he is also learning to play tennis locally.

Now, I have the honor of serving on the Love Serving Autism NY & NJ Advisory Board, helping create more opportunities for neurodivergent athletes & their families to experience the confidence, connection & joy that sports can bring.

It’s a full-circle reminder of why access matters.
Inclusion isn’t just about being invited into the room. It’s making sure there’s a place for you when you get there. 💙🎾

#icymi it’s Black Breastfeeding Week. 🖤

I’d be remiss not to reflect on my own journey. Naturally, my mind went to a song by the late, great Earl Simmons. Stay with me…

“Thief in the night” - because yes, nursing & pumping often occured in the middle of the night.

“Sinking my teeth in to bite” - because latching & pumping were wildly uncomfortable at first.

“What’s up tonight?” - aka, do I REALLY have to pump again?!

“Kelly, Nicole, Angel, Juanita" - I had EVERY pump & gadget under the sun.

But the real game changer? Community. My amazing lactation coach reminded me: a fed baby is a healthy baby.

Once I stopped stressing about ounces & focused on the mom + baby connection, everything shifted.

Black breastfeeding is community. 🖤

Two years ago, I attended my first @blackgirlstennisclub event during the US Open & found an extremely welcoming space that quickly became community.

I’ve made friendships through BGTC that have become part of my village. I’m so grateful for the joy, connection & wellness this community creates.
